The ring of the bell snapped Taehyung out of his thoughts, quickly gathering his things, shoving them into his backpack. He was more than ready to go home for the day. He put his earbuds in, turning them up as loud as he could before pulling his hood over his head and making his way to the bus stop.
Taehyung doesn't have many friends. Actually, he doesn't have any at all. He lives on his own as well, his parents having died while he was young. He's been made out to be the cliché 'neighborhood freak' no friends, no family, just a house that came with his parents will, along with the money that kept him afloat. Taehyung could have anything he wanted, a mansion, to travel, endless lovers but he preferred a simple, quiet life.
At the bus stop, kids from his school stared, made rude comments and even purposely bumped the boy when they walked past. It was all routine. Most people kept their distance, others bullied and the remaining 1% just left him alone.
"Hey freak." Someone snickered from next to him, it was the same boy as always,
Jung Hoseok.
Oh how Taehyung wishes he could sink his fangs into that boys throat.
Taehyung didn't reply, just stood silently as he awaited the bus. The classical music blaring through his earbuds, it's what calmed him down when people like Hoseok approached him.
"Hey." Hoseok tried again, shoving the older back a bit. But still Taehyung wouldn't give him the satisfaction of acknowledging that he's there. "Whatever, fucking weirdo." And with that, Hoseok left, going to catch his own school bus. Taehyung's bus arrived right on time, 3:10 pm. The sun is at its peak this hour, and he could feel his skin burning. So he quickly climbed on to the bus, headed towards the back and sitting in the same seat he always sits in.
Only a couple brave people would fill in the seats around him, no one ever actually sat with him though. One time, there was no seats left on the bus except next to Taehyung so a kid got off and walked all 5 miles home instead of sitting next to him.
The ride was the same as usual, no one talked, or even really looked at him while he stared out the window, his hood blocking the sun from hitting his smooth cheek. Finally the bus dropped him off at his stop, not even half a mile from his house. So he walked quietly, looking down at the ground while he made his way home. Once he was on his porch, he unlocked the door quickly, slipping inside and sighing at the relief of the cold air hitting his otherwise burning skin.
His cat waltzed up to him, meowing a bit and nudging at the boys leg.
"Hey Yoonie, you hungry?" Taehyung smiled at the animal.
The cat meowed again and Taehyung chuckled, setting his keys, phone and ear buds on the counter before going to retrieve the cat food out of the pantry, after feeding Yoonie, he went to check on his other animals.
Taehyung has a good pet collection, since people didn't like him, he himself took a liking to animals, especially aquatic animals. He thought fish and other marine life are beautiful. The boy had a huge fish tank in his living room, perfectly clean and neat, the light hum of the filter could be heard in the otherwise quiet room as he admired the various fish, plants and snails in the tank.
After knowing everything was okay, Taehyung retrieved his phone and other things from the kitchen counter, walking to his room where he was greeted by his dog laying on his pillows.
"Hi Yeontan, lazy as always I see." Taehyung smiled again, sitting on the bed as he kicked off his shoes and socks. Yeontan only barked softly at the boys words, getting up to go get love from his owner.
