Chapter II: Birth
My Name is Leon Smirnov, I'm 6 years old. I was born into a wealthy family. The oldest son of one of the Four Great Kings. I like PB&J with applesauce, and I used to be Hamasaki, Akira. A 24-year-old NEET, who died and had an unsuccessful life.
I was reborn as a Capture Target in the popular Otome game, 'Kokoro ga Doki Doki Suru: Otome Love', I was mugged and killed in an alleyway at 2:00 AM on a Thursday, just as I got the ending that I tried so hard to get.
The Heroine AND Villainess. The hardest ending in the game.
That is what I'm remembering as I stared at my pale youthful hands. I'm currently sitting in a Hospital ward surrounded by my family, Akira, self-proclaimed chosen NEET, someone who didn't even go to college.
"W-What?" My voice was high-pitched and unfamiliar. The soft timber that I once had, was gone. As if I had not yet gone through puberty. (Which was in fact the case) "This can't be happening!" I shrieked, "What is happening?"
"Leon!" I heard a voice call out to me, I looked up to see my younger brother. Worried green eyes, burdened by thick round glasses stared back at me. "You are awake!" He cried deep auburn hair that almost looked brown covered parts of his face from view.
"I-I thought I-" He sniffled. I felt awkward, I never knew what to do when someone cried in front of me.
My brother, a year younger than me, jumped onto the Hospital bed and pulled me into a tight grasp. Tears that ran down his face moistened my cheek.
"I'm so sorry brother, I didn't mean too." He sobbed, "I really didn't mean to."
"Jasper, you shouldn't be on the bed." My father, Winston lightly scolded. He had red hair like me, I noted mutely.
He knelt in front of me while reaching for my face as if to convince himself that I really existed. "Are you alright Leon, I hope Jasper's accidental magic didn't do any permanent harm." He was an imposing figure, but now as he viewed me with worried eyes, he didn't feel as intimidating as he should.
"I keep telling Gerald (The empire) to allow the younger children into the academy, but he refuses. What are we going to do if this keeps happening?" My mother, Linda, says, her hands resting on my father's shoulder.
"You would think that he would listen to one of the Four"
"Mother I'm fine, Jasper didn't mean to, so it should be fine." I cut in, I was surprised by how bold I felt. I was always bold, but not that I have the memory of a timid adult. I felt more surprised than I should have.
In my old life, I wasn't allowed to talk so casually with my parents.
But, the me, the one in Leon's memories, was very touchy, caring, and confident as his family encouraged that.
"Oh, but it shouldn't be," My mother said woefully.
Feeling the tension in the air, I tried to steer the conversation away from me, telling my parents that I was fine, I needed time to process my new memories and I couldn't have my parents worrying about me.
They all bid my goodbye after I lied and said that I was tired.
"You rest son, and I'll see if the doctors will let you go home now that you're awake." My father said, bidding me goodbye.
With everyone gone, I finally had the time to process the information.
AAHHHHHHH!
