"The history of Lake Grove" by Emeril Jackson. Erin smirked slightly reading the title. Staring at the pages and the colorful coordinated tabs sticking out the sides. Almost all of the pages had a tab of blue, green, yellow,or red on it. Each mentioning a different case, or different murder mystery.
All of which pulled Erin into a world, full of such mystery and gore. Something of important interest to her. She glanced down to her bag, and picked up her cell from her back pocket. Lowering down to her bag, and picking up black earphones. They had small skulls on them, which added 'character.' She attached the earphones silently, and swiped through her phone.
Pulling up a podcasting center and searching through. And ended up listening to Nora Opal, a fellow student in her Language classes(third and fourth period). She pressed play, and listened to the comforting voice in her ears. Erin opened her book to the pages of the murder Nora was directing to today.
Some days Nora talked about past murders, sometimes theories, and sometimes just recent sightings. She read a lot and got bullied often. But, she grew out of that and ignored it. People eventually stopped seeing how much attention she gathered. Nora only had Erin and Ash as friends.
Erin lifted her head and looked to her left, the clock was only fifteen minutes til next period. She scoffed and left her fringe to fall over her lighter grey eye. Her eyes followed the words on the thoughtful page, while her ears listened to the voice of an angel. Their eyes sped down the page, and an intense expression was shown on their face.

"We are told that our mysterious murderers, give us a name for ourselves. Like how since we have so many deaths in this town. I think the fear and attention we receive just feeds the monsters we have in this town...."

Erin continued to read down the page, and their expression hadn't changed since before. After a few moments, and faint bell like ring was heard. Erin gripped the book, and zipped their binder bag. Swinging their backpack onto their back, and swooping the bag in hand in one single motion. The slight tapping of boots hitting the tiled floor, and the annoying small talk between periods.
Erin shrugged and listened to Nora's ideas of the current murder. They had made their way up the steps, and groaned second period was nothing special;math class. Math was just a fancy word for dumbasses making mistakes, and the geniuses correct them. You know? In the worst way possible.
Erin sat in the front left corner, and pointed their vision towards the right. Ash was a few seats away, and they looked exhausted. Almost like 'lack of sleeping' exhausted. Their short red dyed hair pointing to the right, their skin not being cared for, and unhealthy bags under their eyes. Erin let out a staggered breath, and began to type a message to not disturb anyone.
'Did you get any sleep?' A short generic question, so Ash wouldn't get pissed off. More than they already are that is. 'I'm fine don't worry about me.' A quick answer was given. Erin couldn't help it and the suspense infuriating her further more. 'You look dead more than usual' Erin typed hastily and glimpsed at the board. Simple equations with unknown algebra symbols, and some examples of written out questions.
A simple shrug appeared on Erin's figure. The voice not leaving her ears, and she glared at her phone harshly. 'Thanks for the compliment but stop worrying about it' Ash responded, leaving Erin to get impatient. Sadly, they had to let it go and a simple eye roll did the job. Erin heard the iconic farewell Nora always gave, and a smile almost appeared on her face.
She skimmed through her phone and replayed an old one, that always intrigued her. Erin lifted her black hood over her head, and lowered her head. She usually did her work after class anyway. A short nap was fit in before the loud alarming noise of an alarm.
Erin lowered her earphones, and turned off the alarm. She turned off the podcast, and put up both her tech and her book. After several moments, the class period was nothing special. Work was done, and afterwards Erin gripped to Ash's red hood. Pulling them to the janitor's closet.
"What's wrong?" Erin glared into Ash's almost onyx like eyes. "Nothing...Well nothing important. I'll handle it" Ash answered crossing their arms over their chest. "Handle what exactly?" Erin asked under their breath and Ash covered their face. In a face palming like manner, and their baggy sleeve made it look not so moody.
A vibrating noise was heard in Ash's pocket. Erin reached for it and stared at the contact. Waiting for it to leave and clicked the message that was sent. A look mixed with variety was worn on their face. Staring at the text that was sent. 'It was your mistake wasn't it? Little miss?'
Ash snagged the phone, in such a deadly grip. They wore a menacing look and punched the iron shelving that lied behind them. "Goddammit Erin! I said I would handle it. You didn't have to look at it." Ash sulked looking low. "Who the hell is that?" Erin asked getting agitated, "Some bitch who digs into other people's business that's who." Ash answered annoyed and insulted.
"I am not a miss never was. never will be." Ash muttered under their breath. "When did they start having talks with you?" Erin asked turning, and showing their menacing look to Ash. "Last night when I came back from Rein's house" Ash stomped feeling anxious. "What did they send you first?" Erin asked feeling a link.
"A....a video. Of me and Rein." Ash covered their chest and they looked insulted. "We'll get to the bottom of this. I promise. For now we have to get Nora included she can help us." Erin suggested. Ash nodded and let out a sigh. "We should wait this out and head to fourth period." Ash leaned back and slid down. Just sitting down and shutting their eyes.
Erin lied on their backpack and shut their eyes tight. Resting on the fact of how a murder could be in play.
