"You can help me tomorrow, sweetheart." Mr. Elliot waved them away.
Grace gave her father a quick kiss before leaving with Charles.
They stole glances at each other before speaking simultaneously.

"Thank you."
They paused on the sidewalk before Charles led her across the street to a small park.

"Please don't feel obligated because of my assistance to your father, but... may I court you?"
