chapter 2 - the perfect boy

my eyes layed on a tall beautiful brown eyed boy sitting on a park bench eating some nachos he ordered from the schools cafè. i took grip onto sundays arm and asked of she knew who he was and she dragged me over to him and intoduced me to him.
'RUEL!! this is maddie she hust moved here from melbourne todays her first day.' sunday informed.
'hey maddie nice to meet you im ruel' ruel stands up and places his long tan arms around me for a hug. i think to my self 'this boy is at least a whole foot taller than me.' i wasnt able to say anything back because sunday was introducing me to everyone else. there was mary (who is beautiful might i add) & lucas (her twin brother who is also very good looking), kate, simon, jackson, lilly, beth, ashley, riley, max, kyle and obviously ruel, harrison, annette and sunday. simon climbed onto the picnic table.
'hey year 10 party at my house this friday night bring everyone and anyone' simon shouted so pretty much the whole school heard. sunday turned around to me and said that i am going to the party so that i can be more social and meet new people. which i was 100% down to do. i move and sit in the middle of harry and ruel.
'hey maddie, do u wanna come to simons party with me and harry?' ruel asked.
'i would love too. but will there be alcohol is the real question.' she claimed.
'yes of course there would be, it wouldnt be a party at simons if there wasnt any drunk beef banter' harry continued, 'great so we will pick you up around 7:30, be ready because we dont want to arive late.'

the lunch bell went for 3rd period. i scrumage around my bag for my time table. i pull it out and meanwhile ruel asked me 'what class do u have next' i turn around and say 'music 3 with mister andrews in room 327,'
'hey me too, ill walk with you' ruel insisted.
we arive to class and the teacher greets us and we make our way to a table and its just the two of us in the class that i know.
'Mr Van Dijk let me see what you have been working on.' the teacher made ruel stand up in the front of the class with a guitar and he peformed a beautiful song, sadly there was no lyrics to go along with it yet. i turn to ruel.
'wow! ruel you are seriously talented'
i tell him

RUELS POV

i think to my self should i tell her about my singing career or just let it be until i get to know her more.
'thankyou i grew up around music and so i guess i grew a passion for it' i tell maddie.
'try write some lyrics for it now and im sure it would should lovely. even publishable.' maddie informs me.

MADDIES POV

the bell for 4th period goes and i have maths 2 room 467. i walk to my maths room and i realize because im so good at maths im going to be stuck will all the nerds, and so i sit at the back sneakly on my phone messaging all the people back at home. i have 3 missed called from mum and a message saying 'good luck at school today darling' and a missed call from lola (maddies eldest sister 24 y/o) and 4 from grace (maddies second eldest sister 19 y/o) i dont call or text any of them back until after school because i will get in big shit if they know im on my phone during school.

the period is finally over. it felt like it dragged on for a century. next i have science room 667. i walk into that class and there is no one i know except ruel.
'M A D D I E!!!' i hear gets shouted across the room.
'ruel?' i walk over to him.
'please dont embarrasse me.' i ask of ruel. he just gives a little smirk and draws his attention to the teacher up ahead. half the period flies by and the teacher assigns us with assignments.
'partner in crime!' i say as i go up for a highfive. ruel quickly turns around and the biggest smile merges onto his beautiful face.
'partners in crime forever!' ruel shouts.
'come by my house this arvo and we can work on it?' i ask.
'yeah sure. its a date' ruel stands and smiles. he askes the teacher for the toilet and leaves the building.
an unfamiliar voice whispers 'he likes you. its obviously,' i turn around and see mary, one of sundays friends, shes seems to be very shy and observent.
'we have only known eachother for 3 hours' i resure mary.
'i can tell, me and ruel have known eachother since prep, i know everything about that lanky boy and same with me.' mary tells me.
'well what do i do?' i ask mary.
'well you like him dont you.' i nod and start blushing 'just make the most out of simons party, but dont get ruel too drunk.' ruel comes barging through ths doors.
'did i miss much' he asked.
'nope just talking about simons party' i inform ruel.
'fuck harry, ima take you by myself as my date, if thats ok with you' ruel asked. i sit and all these throughts come rushing through my head. is this perfect by asking me out on a date.
