A lonely girl

She stood in the snow, with the ground turning white,

The snowflakes fell softly and blurred her sight,

Her soft lips quivered, and her tears rolled,

She was breaking inside, but she never told,

She never told her fears, she never showed she was lost,

She laughed at your jokes, no matter the cost,

Her pretty smile, and her eyes that shine,

They are all just a lie, quite a bit like mine,

You think we are happy, when really we're not,

we're surrounded by people, but yet they forgot,

to look in our eyes and see we don't belong,

we don't belong around people, we keep them shut out,

We are just one, amidst millions,

yet we are alone,

we have no one,

a lonely girl, on a cold winter street.
