Bittersweet

The Target

"I'm leaving." I answer, trying to get out of his grip.

"Where? Wait, how can you leave while school is still going on?" He questions. I sigh, knowing this is going to take time to explain. I just want to go.

"I signed the 'out-to-lunch' sheet in the office. that means I can go out in the city with my car to eat instead of eating here and that's where I'm going." I rush my words and he finally lets me go.

"Oh. Well I wanted to spend lunch time together and maybe the rest of the day with you." he practically whispers. My cheeks grow hot and that means I'm blushing. Shit! Not In front of him. I look down to hide my face.

"Oh." is all I can say in a higher pitched voice feeling embarrassed.

"Well I mean the whole group wants to." he rushes, quickly swiping the blush off my face.

"Oh." I say in a low pitches voice feeling sad that it wasn't just him.

He grabs my hand, taking me by surprise. I look at him with big, confused eyes. He smiles and nods for reassurance and I nod back. I can't help the big smile aching on my face. He looks towards the group still by the office doors and he starts to walk towards them.

They all turn towards, noticing our presence. I see everyone's eyes look down to our combined hands and blush harder if that's even possible. I look up the Zach who's still look to the boys.

"Guys we're leaving so.... see you later." he tells them. I look up to him and he begins to walk into the office. using his right hand that's free the signs the 'guest' part, putting his name on it and then walking out. he goes straight for the door and I get a glimpse of Jennifer and Megan's faces. they look all knowing as if they know what's about to happen.

I look away as the door opens and a soft breeze pushes pass my face. I look up to Zach to see him looking for something.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"Oh...umm... I was looking for your car so we could go."

"Oh... here are my car keys. I parked on the 2nd level." I say as I give him my keys. We silently walk to my car. I had to led him to it.

He unlocked the car doors and we got in. He started the car and drive out the parking lot. I received a text from Jennifer asking what was going on between Zachary and I.

'Nothing' I text.

'There has to be. every1 saw u 2 holding hands. and u left to go god knows where 2gether' she texted back 30 seconds later.

'He was holding my hand for comfort and we left to get lunch. like I said nothing is going on' I text back.

'Wat about wat u told me about u 2 kissing' she questions

'He was sleep now stop bringing it up' I'm getting annoyed. I don't even want to talk about the kiss and all that has happened since yesterday. before I get a reply from Jennifer again Zach starts asking questions.

"Who ya texting?" he jokes.

"My girlfriend." I joke back.

"I didn't know you dated girls."

"Neither did I, until just now." we both burst into laughter. I feel much better with Zach there. he just has this happy glow around him. it can put a smile on anyone's face. I receive another text for Jennifer but don't look at it because Zach continues our conversation. He starts talking about his time Jamaica before he got here. after about 10 minutes, he finishes and I notice that we aren't in the food court of the town.

"So... I've been driving around and not knowing where I'm going." he laughs.

"Oh my gosh. then where are you taking us?"

"I've just been taking the main road this whole time." We both laugh and we pass a sign that says we're still in town only a few miles from the a restaurant. We go into a woodsy area. the road is surrounded by skyscraper tall trees and block out the sun only allowing a few streaks of sunshine in.

We come across a small log with lots of big windows. The building is surrounded by a dark ura and the inside light shines out to the ground. it looks just beautiful.

"Do you want to eat here?"Zach asks me snatching me from my gaze on the small building. I nod my head unable to form words by the beauty of the building. he lets out a small laugh and smiles as we near the restaurant.

We pull into the parking lot and the lot is full. this place doesn't seem to be all fancy. and if it is, well I'm not dressed for it.We park in the far back of the parking lot, parking in the closest spot we could get.

Zach rushes to get out, leaving his car door open. He runs to my side of the car. I notice what he's trying to do so I'll let him do it. He opens my door and holds out his hand. I blush and take his hand looking down to the ground to hide my face from him. he walks me to the walkway of the restaurant in front of my car and goes back to close the doors and lock them.

He takes my hand in his and walks to the front doors. once we walk in I see really how beautiful the place is on the inside. A waiter walks up to us. He has night black hair and brown eyes. he wears an apepran that's white. not a single p in it. his sleeves are pull up 3/4 of the way on his arms. he has tan skin and is very hot.

"Do you have a reservation?"the waiter ask as he stops in front of us.

"No." Zach answers.

"Okay, then can you wait a moment while I see if we have any openings right now?" Zachary nods his head. We take a seat on the lounge be the entrance. We sit really close if you ask me but I'm okay with it. our hands still interlocked while we wait silently. I look around the room, searching

A few minutes later, the waiter comes back. With a smile on his face.

"We have a table for two, if it is only the two of you." The waiter holds back a laugh as he holds a gaze with Zachary.

"Yeah it's only us two." Zach answers. Smiling at the waiter. I look back at the two boys in front of me.

"Okay then if you two would follow me I'll show you to your table." The waiter turns around and grabs two menus and starts walking. we pass many tables before we reach an empty two seated table.

Zach pulls my chair out for me and I take a seat. As Zach takes his seat the waiter gives us our menus placing them on the table. We make small talk about school and I look around the building again. The place looks bigger on the inside them it does on the outside.

After choosing what we want to eat for lunch, we wait for the waiter to return again. While looking around I notice a short brown hair style that I recognize as my moms and short greyish-white hair that I also recognize as my dad's. OMG! My Parents! I duck my head down. Oh shit! What am I going to do?

Hey guys sorry I'm a day or two late but I had a lot of stuff going on this weekend. I had to get my hair cut,and had to get ready for the party today for Labor Day. I also had a lot of homework from all my classes.

I was thinking that I do a shifting thing where I write a chapter for each book every two weeks. as in I update a chapter this week for this book, next week I upload a chapter for my other book and on and on like that.
