when i look at you
i don't see a person
instead, i see a city.

i see the skyscrapers in new york
that i raced past
in crowded streets.

i see a flower shop in france
where lovers pass along
bouquets of forget-me-nots.

i see a bakery in holland
where authors and artists
are creating new worlds.

- i never wonder why my favorite places feel like you
