The spectators saw how the legal born son of the Prime Minister gently pats on his half-sister back before he accompanied her to walk to the bride's palanquin. Even after the bride's procession was no longer in sight, he still stood there with an unreadable expression on his handsome face.
She arrived at the General's residence with no one waiting for her arrival. Noticing that her husband is not welcoming her arrival as required by the tradition. As she braced herself, she went out of the palanquin on her own. This has definitely shocked the watch guards that are guiding the main entrance. She then instructed for the matchmaker to show her the way.
When she arrived at the reception hall, her husband was being reprimanded by his mother, Li Lanying, in front of the guests who pretended that nothing had happened. She walked towards both of them and greeted them with the utmost respect.
"Jia Huian greets mother-in-law and esteemed husband."
Her mother-in-law noticed her arrival and answered, "Huian... Do forgive for Bojing's impertinence. He..."

He did not say anything. Her kind mother-in-law keeps on reassuring her. When they are done with wedding bow and the tea ceremony, one of the elder maidservants of the Hai family guided her to the general's sleeping chamber. She waited there patiently with her dowry maids.
He came during midnight and removed her wedding veil. Even when she continued to bow her head down, she noticed his stare. Their first night has passed by with her having to be an obedient and willing wife.
As he is still a young man, he had taken her over and over again till the break of dawn. Her dowry maids can only weep in silence outside the sleeping chamber upon hearing her pleading cries mixed with painful yet erotic moans.
She is still a young woman, despite knowing that a relationship between a husband and a wife can be quite pleasurable, still, her virgin body cannot match with his strong and fit body of a warrior. Her heart is not yet ready nor she is willing but she has to accept him as he is the man that she married.

His mother was absolutely angry as the third day was supposed to be the day where she returns back to her family's residence. Her mother-in-law had told him to accompany her to go back with her but he obviously not willing to do so by his surprising departure.
And so, she returned back on her own accompanied with only two of her dowry maids. Her father was so angry and reported to the Emperor for the General's conduct. The Emperor had sent an imperial edict for the General to return back to the imperial city but, as luck has it, a war broke out in the western region.
A month after, she was confirmed to be pregnant. Her mother-in-law was extremely happy. Her family members as well with their occasional visitations to the General's residence. She was happy that she was to be a mother but, gradually, her health has declined due to her disappointments. She breathed her last breath a few months before her supposedly seventeen birthday.
After her death, her wandering soul saw her daughter grows up in loneliness as the relationship between the Prime Minister and the General deteriorated further. On her daughter's fifteen years, she had been contracted with tuberculosis and died. Her soul can only wail in agony upon seeing her daughter coughed repeatedly before she has fallen into the freezing pond without being noticed by others.
Her daughter's body was only found the very next day with the General's stared at his daughter's freezing body in silence before he stumbled back as her older brother steadied the bigger man. Her father was crying his heart out in seeing his granddaughter's state. Her daughter was just like her, living in silence and never demanded anything.
A month later, her father had passed away. Her older brother then decided to move to another faraway district with the whole family. Leaving the prestigious Prime Minister post empty before be filled-in by someone else not from the Jia family. A year later, the General died in the hands of his enemy. He died without an heir and, thus, the Hai family perished along with him.
Emperor Rong then realized that the terrible mistake he had done by decreeing the marriage. He lost both prominent families that were considered to be the backbone of his Kingdom.
