Takehiko POV

It has been three days since my painful moments in the hospital. I started rehabilitation with a horrible start of falling down just under ten steps out my room. My mother and sister been there everyday to support me in my times of need. Every four hours I had  to try to walk as much as I could. Five steps grew into nine steps, nine steps into fourteen steps. I will not let a bunch of people keep me away by disrespecting my race, but I also have thoughts of not going back to that school afraid of something like this will likely happen again.

"Your doing wonderful Takehiko. You'll be able to leave tomorrow. We will issue crutches to help you not put too much pressure on either leg. Please stay at home and REST! You only leave when your either going to school or practicing walking. Understood?" Dr. Midori said sternly.

"Yes. May I speak to my mother alone please?" I ask politely.

"Sure." Dr. Midori said shutting the door behind her.

"Mom. I don't want to go to back to that school." I said not looking at her.

"Why?" She said with a confused look.

"Why? Why!? Do you not see this!?" I yelled slowly moving my arms to gesture my whole body.

"I do. You gotten a few bruised bones. Whitewater High is the closest school to home. You know I have a busy work schedule too hectic for me to take you to another school over a mile away." She said looking at me in a sad way.

"So your telling me that your boss or whoever is above you cannot change your schedule? You have a seriously injured son that really needs his mother!" I yelled.

"It's complicated. Please keep your voice down. Your eighteen years old. You need to learn how to become more independent. I will not always be there for you. I can drive you to school, and come pick you up. Your not switching schools. You need to make friends. Play sports, Join a club perhaps." She said not caring for my safety.

"Are you kidding me!? I work my ass off at my part-time job! You never paid for my phone, I did! You don't pay for my food, I do! I even have to pay for Rin so she can have food for the night! Your busy giving all your money to your supposently boyfriend who doesn't even have a damn job!" I yelled. My mother just slapped me in the face with fiery in her eyes.

"You never disrespect me! You think your all big and bad, why didn't you release all this  anger on your attackers, hm?" She said. I just stared at her frozen. Why didn't this anger risen when I was getting beat?'

"You live under my house. You abide by my rules. What's gotten into you? You was never this angry or disrespectful. What have that school did to you?" She said worriedly.

"The real question is, what are you doing to me." I said in a low voice.

"If dad was here, he wouldn't mind. He would actually help me. You don't like nice guys, don't you? What did he do to deserve that?" I said looking in her cold, dead eyes.

"That's none of your business!" She hissed.

"I believe it is. I am a grown man. The thrill is in the chase, isn't it? You going to continue down that path knowing you can do much better with your life?" I said noticing she is getting hot headed.

"You know nothing about me! Your father was a corrupted man that wanted nothing but money! He never cared about you or Rin!" She yelled.

"I seen through father torn eyes. They say a mother knows best. It's not looking like that in this case. Don't you see the pain you caused in me? I been in the hospital four times, tried committing suicide twice . Where was you? Nobody knows. With your boyfriend maybe? At work? It took you six hours to realize I was hospitalized. Your really becoming a burden that my heart simply cannot take. Now, please leave. You boiled my blood to the point of evaporation." I said turning my head away from her face.

"I'm sorry. I know it has been hard for you. I'll pick you up tomorrow morning. Goodnight, Takehiko." She said before cutting off my light.

Now that my day has been completely ruined. Not only I have to go back to the same school and figure your who sent that letter. I have to earn money and work on getting my body back to normal.
