Before The Horns

Lucifer and Michael sat on a cloud, happily chattering away. Michael dangled his legs at the edge while Luci lazily lay on his stomach. They talked about this and that, the cherubim and the seraphim. 

"Hey Mike! Have you ever seen the seraphim?"

"Uhh no, can't say I have. Have you?"

"Yeah! They look so cool! They have 6 wings! They keep repeating the same thing though."

"Whoa 6 wings?"

"Yeah! I wonder if I will get 6 wings.."

"Well you can keep wondering. It's not like you're Dad."

"Hey I have an idea!"

"What's that?"

"First one to the cherubs are guaranteed to get 6 wings!"

Luci blasts away in a blur of white and gold. Mike it left behind shocked.

"W-Wait! It doesn't- oh forget it."

Mike dashes after Luci. He soars next to Luci's left side.

"Hey there Luci!"

Mike blasts ahead of Luci and reaches the first cherub he sees. The cherub looked down at him with its 4 heads and 8 white, glowing eyes, it's breaths calm and deep. Lucifer pulled up soon after. The cherub suddenly roared and lunged for Luci. Fortunately, he managed to fly out of the way and hide in some clouds. He felt someone poke him.

"Is it  gone?"

"What do you mean?"

Luci peeked from the clouds. He saw blue eyes stare back at him. They weren't Mikes though. 

"Oh hey Phanuel."

"Hi Lucifer. Hey, why were you hiding?"

"A cherub tried to hurt me."

"Why?"

"I dunno."

Mike landed between the two.

"Hey Luci, are you ok?"

"Yeah, no scratches."

"Good. That was weird. The cherubim are usually so calm."

Luci shrugged.

"Hey! Race you around the whole universe!"

"..."

"You're on!"
