Chapter 10

Nabaling ang atensyon namin sa harap nang magsalita si Tito Varlisle the Principal of this school. "We called you because we have an important announcement to make." he said. "We need to send 6 students to the Marden Village to save mundanes from the crooks." he announced.

Nagsimula nanamang mag ingay dito sa Grand Hall dahil sa announcement.

"Sino kayang mapipili?" Layne murmured.

"Your six professors will the one to choose the six students based on your potential and skills that your professors observed." he said.

Professor Lowel is the first to choose, he looked at each houses and then looked at my direction. "Ms. Beaufort from the Phoenix House." he said.

Rinig ko ang mga bulungan ng mga studyante dahil sa pagpili sakin ni Professor Lowel.

"I choose her because of her wiseness and resourcefulness, it is a big help to the group and mundanes if we send her." he explained.

Bakit ako?

Tumingin sa akin si tito Varlisle, yung tingin na may kasamang pagkagulat at pag-aalala.

Sunod na namili ay si Professor Glinora. "I choose Mr. Ortiz from the Phoenix House, I choosed him because of his strength and skills in battle."

Tinignan ko si Tober sa tabi ko, seryoso ang mukha niya at walang bakas ng pagkagulat ng piliin siya. Sa ngayon ay dalawa na kami ni Tober ang pinili.

Sumunod namang namili ngayon ay si Professor Morgan, nilibot niya ang tingin niya saming mga studyante, paniguradong hirap siyang mamili ngayon dahil hindi pa naman kami nagkaklase sa Ability class dahil sa susunod pa yun. "Mr. Ross from the Hippogriff House." he said pointed at where Richard is.

Next to choose is Professor Jezel, she chose a student from the Pegasus House, then Professor Zape chose a student from the Manticore and lastly Professor Duffle chose Mardy because of his plant manipulation.

Hindi napili si Layne at Mandy kaya ang ibig sabihin lang ay maiiwan silang dalawa dito.

"Mag-iingat kayo besty ah, mamimiss kita." mangiyak ngiyak na sabi ni Mandy.

"You also take care of yourself, buti na lang kasama mo pa si Layne." I said.

"Yun na nga besty eh, dapat si Mardy na lang naiwan, kaya ko pang tiisin eh etong kulupong na to pa ang naiwan." reklamo niya.

"Ano ka ba, para kayong bata matagal na nga kayong magkaibigan tapos ganyanan pa kayo." sermon ko. "Oh Layne, bantayan at alagaan mo tong si Mandy ah." bilin ko.

"Di ko na kailangang bantayan to, wala namang mangyayaring masama sakanya, baka sila pa matakot sa halimaw na to." he said then smirked, I glared at him and he laughed.

"Sinong halimaw ha?" inis na sabi ni Mandy at pinaghahampas si Layne.

"Ouch! Stop it will you." sinangga niya ang mga hampas ni Mandy.

Nagpaalam na ko sa dalawa dahil pintawag na kami para sa meeting, ganun din si Mardy at Tober.

Pagkadating naming tatlo ay nandun narin ang tatlong kasama namin at umupo na sa kanya kanya naming upuan.

"Ms. Beaufort may I excuse you for a second?" sabi ni Tito Varlisle at lumabas ng office niya.

Tumingin sakin ang mga kasama ko saglit na may kasamang pagtataka, tumayo na ko at sumunod kay Tito Varlisle.

"Ano po iyon?" panimulang tanong ko.

"Umatras kana ngayon, hindi ka pwedeng sumama dahil nangako ako sa magulang mo na babantayan kita." sagot niya.

"But tito_I mean Principal Varlisle I want to, they need our help. I'm not a child anymore, I can protect myself don't worry." sabi ko. Pinili ako kaya kailangan kong pumunta, wala ng atrasan to.

"It's dangerous Ms. Beaufort, hindi ako mapapatawad ng magulang mo pag may nangyaring masama sayo."

"It's ok Principal, they will understand, I can handle myself and I'm not alone_they will also protect me." I said confidently.

"I guess I can't change your mind, you're such a stubborn child." he sighed. "Please stay safe, ok?" he pleaded.

"Yes Principal." I said and bowed.

Bumalik na kami sa office para maumpisahan na ang meeting.

"Your professors chose you because of your capabilities." panimula niya. "I presumed you heard my announcement a while ago right? We will send you to Marden Village because they were attacked by the crooks. Tomorrow will be the start of your mission and the school will only give you one week to finish this mission, therefor stay safe and don't get hurt."

"Yes sir." we answered in unison.

Lumabas na kami ng office at dumiretso sa kanya kanya naming room para magempake ng mga importanteng gagamitin.

Pagkatapos naming magempake ay pinatawag kami sa training room.

"Get all the weapons that you need in your mission." Professor Glinora said and opened the two cabinets. I saw the surprise on my comrades faces. Well I already saw this weapons when Layne showed this to me.

"There are multiple weapons here, just get what you need." we went infront of the cabinets and took the weapons that we needed.

Kinuha ko ang shoge knife at bows and arrows dahil sa iyon ang nagustuhan ko noong unang beses kong nakita ito, inilagay ko ito sa bag na binigay sa amin.

"I think pwede rin sayo ang mga throwing weapons, just a hunch."

Naalala ko ang sinabi sakin noon ni Layne kaya bumalik ako sa harap ng cabinet at kinuha ang mga ilan sa throwing weapons lalo na ang throwing cards.

"What weapons did you took?" tanong ni Richard at sinilip ang laman ng bag ko.

"Just some long-range weapons, and you?" tanong ko.

"I took the sword and the shield." he answered and showed me his bag with his weapons inside, I just nod and fixed my things.

Habang inaayos ko ang mga gamit ko ay feeling ko na parang may tumitingin sa akin. I looked around to see who is watching me and then I saw Tober looking at me, he looked away when he saw me looking at him.

What's wrong with him?
