Part Two:D-29

Prologue

It has been 10 years since J-53 was deleted from all records. D-29 is the second cybernetic angel to be created for the military under the C.A.P's guidance. "D-29, your objective is to destroy the bombs before they can be detonated." D-29's dark gray eyes flashed as he flew over a river. "Understood." D-29 landed on the ground near the first bomb and quickly defused it. "Bomb one defused." "Good you have 4 more to go. The next is near a telephone pole by a shopping mall in the downtown area of sector three." D-29 spread his wings and took flight heading to the location. "On my way."

It took D-29 about 45 minutes to defuse all 5 bombs. "All bombs defused." "Excellent, now return to base." As D-29 headed back towards the base he notices something troubling taking place below him. D-29 decides to land and check it out. "Let go of her!" The voice was melodic for a male but it was no mistake. The owner of that voice was indeed a boy of about 16 years of age. The boy charged at the gangster who held a little girl of about 7 years of age. The man laughs and trips the boy and then kicks him in the stomach.

"Choose your next words wisely boy. Will you give up the deed to this run down building?" The man who seems to be in charge approaches the boy and grabs him by the neck of his shirt. The boy spits in the man's face and says, "Go to hell. I will never give up the deed." The man throws the boy down and pulls out a gun and aims it at the little girl. "The deed or she dies."

D-29 could not stand seeing these children being mistreated so he did the only thing he knew how to do. As he stepped out of the shadows he brought out his built in chain whip and with a flip of his arm wrapped it around the neck of the man holding the girl. "If you value your life, let her go."

The man's arm went limp and the girl hit the ground with a thump. "Owie. Ry Ry!" The little girl runs over to the boy and hugs him. As the gang leader has his boys back up D-29 releases his hold and shoves the man towards the others. The leader said, "If you know what's good for you, you will say your sorry and leave now."

The boy watches as the one who saved his little sister breathe in the air before replying with, "You and your slackers don't scare me." After those words were said D-29 raised his eyes to look at the gangster and in a flash had the man on his back with his wrist blade at the gangster's throat. "I can't stand by and watch innocent children be hurt. So if I tell you to get yourself and your men out of here and stay out you better listen because I won't hesitate in ripping you apart." As D-29 said this the boy and girl were watching the leader's eyes but a glint caught the boy's eyes. "Look out!"

At the boy's warning D-29 whips around and with his wrist blades slashes the chest of the gangster that had the knife. D-29 turns back to the leader and says, "Get lost or I will rip you to shreds right now." D-29 spreads his wings and scrapes the tips on the walls to sharpen the feathers. The gangsters and their leader run away as if chased by hell hounds.

The little girl stands up and smiles as she says, "Ry Ry, I think we have our very own dark angel." The boy gets up and gazes into the man's gray eyes and feels like he is falling into those eyes. "Uh...thanks for the help mister." The boy takes the girl's hand and they walk toward the building they are living in. The little girl looks back at the man who saved her and waves for him to follow.

"D-29, do you read?" D-29 thought to himself, There is no way those gangsters were scared off permanently, so looks like I'll have to stay with those kids for awhile. As D-29 makes the decision he takes out his ear piece and tosses it in the trash as he follows the boy and his little sister.

Three Days Later

One by one the orphans left the building to go do the usual things they did during the day, but this time they left with the knowledge that their home would be safe no matter what. Ryuji watched each orphan leave the building from the roof. He looked over at his sister Lia and smiled as she danced around to the music that was being played from the radio station near by. "Ry Ry, come dance with me." Lia said as she was twirling and giggling. "Sorry, Lia but I'll be busy today." Lia simply nodded and swayed to the music. Ryuji stood up and as he walked to the rooftop door he saw that their 'dark angel' as Lia calls him was landing by the front entrance and was immediately pounced on by some of the orphans.
