Alex POV
Just as Maddie was about to show me some pictures from her vacation, three boys came bursting through her door.
"Oh geez, you guys. Can't you go be stupid somewhere else?" Maddie said getting up.
"Heyyy he wasn't lying!" the tallest one with the longish brown hair said.
"I know!" the other boy with the shorter highlighted brown hair said.
"For real, huh?" The other boy with the teased blonde hair said.
"And you are?" I asked
"James," The tallest one said.
"Nathan," The second tallest said.
"Ethan," The blonde said.
"Alex." I replied.
"I like to call them moron, dumb, and dumber." Maddie said, rolling her eyes and looking through her bookcase.
"Whatever." James said as he hopped onto the bed. The others did the same.
"So kid, where you from?" Nathan asked.
"Uh Richmond."
"California?"
"Duh!" Maddie said, pulling a scrap book out from between a dictionary and a math book.
After a moment of silence Ethan yells;
"WHO WANTS ICE CREAM? or something related to ice cream?!?!?"
"OH ME!!!" Nathan, James, and I yell.
"LAST ONE TO THE CAR GETS NOTHING!!!" Nathan yelled, racing out the door.
"C'mon let's go!" I said to Maddie.
"I don't feel like it." She said.
Then there was a moment of silence.
"Gotcha!" She yelled racing out the door.
"No way I'm getting nothing!" I said going after her.
Once we got to the door everyone, including Matt, was outside waiting.
"Where are you guys going?" Maddie's mom yelled from the doorway.
"Yogurt Land, mom!" Matt yelled back, getting into the front seat.
"Okay, don't be gone too long!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Matt said as he started the car. Maddie got the front, Me, James, and Nathan got the middle, and Ethan got the back, back.
"Really guys?" Ethan said.
"What?" I asked.
"Do I have to sit in the back? Why can't James sit in the back he's fatter!"
"I am not fat. This is pure muscle!" James said, flexing his arm.
"Uh-huh. Sure thing Captain Muscle Man."
"I wouldn't be talking Mr. Jiggles-when-he-runs" Matt responded, the look of victory sprawled across his face while he drove down the street.
"Whatever." Ethan said, crossing his arms.
When we finally got there, I was the first to hop out of the car and bounced through the doors.
"Very energetic huh?" Nathan said to Matt.
"I guess." he said.
As soon as we finished our frozen yogurt, Nathan, James, and Ethan had to leave, so Matt agreed, well not agreed, more like was begged by Maddie, to drive me home.
"Well they're nice." I said, trying to break the silence.
"And morons." Maddie said, looking out the window.
A few seconds later, Maddie's phone started to ring.
"Hello?" she answered. She talked for about thirty seconds and then hung up.
"What?" Matt asked, not taking his eyes off the road.
"Can you drop me off at my boyfriend's house?"
"Not that loser again."
"He's not a loser. Now drive."
"Whatever you say, master." he said sarcastically.
"Whose your boyfriend?" I asked
"Dylan Johnson." She said dreamily
"The guy in our math class?" I asked
"The very one. Everyone has a crush on him." She said, sounding proud of herself.
"And what about you Matt?"
"Oh he has some whore for a girlfriend."
"She is not a whore!" Matt said, barely screaming.
"Fine, fine, slut."
"Shut UP!" Not wanting to get involved, I tuned out and let them fight.
"Thanks." Maddie muttered, as she got out of the car in front of Dylan's house.
"Sure." Matt said as he pulled away. Five minutes later, Matt asked me; "Don't you have a dad?"
"Why?"
"I never see you with a dad, just your mom."
"Well he.." I said, hesitating to continue.
"He what?"
"..he was abusive. He hurt me badly when I was thirteen. I had to go to the hospital it was that bad." There was a silence.
"Oh.." he replied.
