Heartily POV

It was a normal day when it happened.

I was in 6th grade, I was doing my math homework when the radio began to speak.

"There have been an accident north of Miami involving a truck and a car. There were three individuals in the car which have been reported alive but seriously injured. The driver of the truck has not been shown with any injuries."

I never thought the car was his or he was one of the individuals.
It wasn't until next day when  his house was quiet and people began to speak.

"Ah, yea. They was coming back from a short trip. I heard the mother and the daughter is okay now but the boy was the most injured"  They would say.

I thought they were wrong but when they returned two weeks later. I see him on a wheelchair.

Although I never talked to this 'he' and 'him'. His name is Warren Hills, his a year older than me and lives a few houses down from me.

When he still attend my elementary school, he had a lot of friends and he wasn't necessarily a bad person.

After a year pass since the accident, he began to use crutches

When I finally entered the same middle school as him, he didn't had the same school life as he did in elementary school. He was mostly alone, maybe having one or two friends.

Whenever I get up the courage to maybe talk to him when his alone, something always stops me, whether the bell or he gets up and leave.

Now time pass, I'm in highschool as a freshman and he is a sophomore.

He barely had any friends and is actually really smart. While I had a very few amount of friends and even had to start to wearing glasses.

.............................

"Heartily! Get up or you'll be late!" I could hear my mom's voice.

"Can I skip school today?!" I shouted back, my cover still on my face.

"What kind of non sense you're saying!? Get up now!"

"Fine!" I shouted back as I lazily got up. I had stay up last night on my laptop even though my mom warned me about staying up late.

I went downstairs to see waffles and orange juice on the table.
"Eat up and then get dressed." my mom instructed.

As usual my dad left for work already while after I leave my mom drops my brothers to school and heads to work

I

ate breakfast, got dressed and then left to walk to school.
When I was almost to the school entrance that when a van stopped just a bit lower down from where I stood.

I see Warren exit out with his school bag on his back and his crutches. It looked like he said something to the driver and then closed the door and the van was off.
