"What a loser. She is nothing but a disgrace. I mean who would want to be a siren. Her parents must have been so disappointed."

Those words rung through my sixteen year old head. I was never liked. Who could blame them though. I was nothing but trouble to them. I wipe my eyes and walk out of the old bathroom stall.

I never show my emotions to others. Everyone thinks I'm a lifeless creature looking for blood. But deep down, their words hurt. I was not like other sirens. I hate who I am. I wish I just had a normal life but that can never happen to someone like me.

I washed my hands and look in the mirror. My dark purple hair flowed down my back to my waist. This complimented my pale skin. My eyes were particularly unusual though. My right eye is green while my left eye is blue. I also have a light dust of freckles over my nose.

I also have two fins on my head that I hide. I would get harassed even more if I showed them. Why can't I just ignore people may you ask? Well I have no friends, and everyday this happens for eight hours non stop. Its quite frustrating.

"Well well well look who we have here," Some popular prissy I didn't care to remember the name of started as she walked into the bathroom, "Why don't you crawl into the deep lagoon where you belong."

I just ignored her and walked out of the bathroom. I don't need her judgement anymore. I hung my head low and continue walking, that is, until someone ran into me.

"Hey watch it." I growled, looking at the tall figure next to me. He started down at me confused, "What are you staring at?"
"Ah. Sorry your elegance caught me off guard." He replied blankly, "The name is Cyrus, Cyrus Levon. You?"

"And why do you care?" I scoffed looking at him. He brushed his brown curly hair out of his eyes, which were covered by sunglasses. He sighed and dropped his tan hand.
"I mean its not like manners exist or anything." He said, eyeing me weirdly. His friends around him laugh. I scoffed lightly.
"My names Amara. Amara Eldoris." I said, rolling my eyes. This guy is taking up my precious time that I could have spent drawing, and not interacting with humans.

Cyrus gave me an amused smirk, which made me look at his confused.
"Amara. Strong name for a strong lady." He gave a cheeky smile.
"Probably stronger then you noodle arms." I laughed, turning to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist and turned me around, achieving oh's from his friends.

"Woah be careful there. You might just hurt my feelings." He fakes pouts at me.
"Oh I'm sorry. Wouldn't want a delicate ego like yours to plummet... Oh wait? I don't care." I retort. Cyrus turned around to his group and commented,
"Alright who went off and upset the midget population?" They all gave snotty laughs as Cyrus crinkled his nose and turned back around.

"Ah is this all your good for? Being an arrogant asshole? I mean all of this," I motion to Cyrus and his friends, "Is so fake. All they want is attention and thats why they hang with you. Its repulsive."
"I'm sure you know all about that, don't you?" Cyrus grumbled annoyed.

"I may be an asshole, but at least I'm not fake." I say through gritted teeth.
"Well at least I have common decency." Cryrus scoffed, crossing his arms. I shrug my shoulders.
"I mean I do but when all of you guys and your crowd treat me like shit because of who I am, why should I treat you with respect." I say, trying to not break down. They can't know I feel like this. Cyrus, however, saw right through me.

"What do you mean by "Who I am." He asked with great concern.
"Dude do you not remember? This is the siren girl." One of his friends laughed. Cyrus looked at her with pity.
"I don't treat people like everyone else does. I promise." Cyrus begun but I interrupted.
"It doesn't matter you all allow it to happen. Now if you excuse I have much better things to do then talk to you." I said and walked off.

I heard many of his friends as I left call me insane, or a weirdo, or a bitch. I just sighed shakily and walked to my class. I sit in the back of the classroom in a dark corner and doodle in my sketch pad.

"Hey funny seeing you here!" Cyrus exclaimed, pointing finger guns at me. He slumped in the seat next to me.
"Why are you sitting here?" I grumbled, laying my head on the desk in front of me.
"Because, you look like you need a friend!" He smiled and brushed his hair out of his face.

I ignored his many attempts to talk to me and just drew. Man, can't this guy et the hint that I don't want him around.
"U-Uh excuse me is t-this seat taken." A soft voice asked us. I look up to see a boy with half white and half black hair. His eyes were a ocean blue. He seemed to be four foot eleven. Damn everyone at this school is taller then me. Curse my four foot nine height!

"Nope sit down little man." Cyrus smiled, "I'm Cyrus Levon and this Debby downer is Amara Eldoris."
"I-I'm Seri N-Nazakat." The kids, I'm guessing names Seri stuttered.

"Hello class today, since we have a switched class for the rest of the year, why don't we go around and say our powers." The teacher said.

Great, another way to get publicly humiliated.
"I-I'm A-Amara and I'm a s-siren." Lots of giggles and hushed whispers were heard.
      "I pass." Cyrus said.
"At least say your name young man." The teacher sighed.
      "I'm Cyrus."
"I-I'm S-Seri Nazakat and I t-talk to animals." Seri said, putting his head down.

Thats weird that Cyrus won't say his power. Maybe he is ashamed? Oh! Or he doesn't have one. Whatever it is, I'm gonna find out.

Hey guys. New book!! My friends and I were roleplaying and I really loved the idea behind it so I decided why not make this into a story. So shout out to ThatEinFangirl and TheeQuoter for coming up with Seri and Cyrus and most of the lines in this chapter XD anyways peace out- Lizzie :3
