"did you bring a torch?" mackenzie hummed, trying to glance around in the pitch black. the sound of bugs and nature or whatever the fuck ringing in her ears as she suddenly felt vulnerable to the bugs and mosquitoes.

"there's a torch in your phone." johnny sighed as he shook his head, mackenzie couldn't help but let out a laugh at how stupid she was.

"right... well! where to?" mackenzie grinned, turning on the flash of her phone. it was 3am and the group planned on waking up at 7 so they could get breakfast and get back before the adults realise they were gone.

"no clue." johnny shrugged, his free hand sliding into his hoodie pocket while the other held his phone which also had the flash on.

mackenzie rolled her eyes, it was 3am. which meant mackenzie was confident and had the motivation to tackle her social awkwardness and also go on a diet, change the world, and study hard for the next year.

so in this time she was a little more confident and comfortable that usual.

"what about the lake?" she grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at him - who only rolled his eyes in return.

"it's fucking freezing, and we have no more dry clothes except the ones we are wearing." johnny stated as he shook his head.

"then we don't wear our clothes in the water." mackenzie hummed like it was obvious with a small shrug. "i've always wanted to go skinny dipping! oh my god we should go skinny dipping." mackenzie squealed like a kid.

she was sounding like she did over text, or how she would around annie or mandla.

confident and comfortable.

"it's freezing mackenzie." johnny argued, trying to ignore the temptation of the whole thing.

"oh well." mackenzie mumbled with a small shrug. "don't you want to see me naked though?" she smirked - looking to him.

"fuck off. i'm pretty sure you just want to see me naked." johnny argued, his arms crossing over his chest.

"i won't argue with that." kenzie shrugged, before her eyes widened slightly. "unless you have a girlfriend. i'm still unsure about all that..." she quickly spoke.

he seemed to be single one day, complicated the next and then taken a couple days after that. then repeat.

but to be fair it could be a phase as well, mackenzie hadn't known him for long.

"i don't have a girlfriend." johnny chuckled as he shook his head.

"in that case, i'll be offended if you don't join me." kenzie hummed, determined to check something off her bucket list by going skinny dipping.

doing it at 3am, in canada, in the freezing cold, with a guy she's attracted to who she can't tell if he hates her or likes her seemed fine.

why not?

johnny's jaw clenched slightly as mackenzie had no hesitation in stripping herself of her clothes, his arms crossing over his chest. he was confused as although this seemed like the mackenzie they had got to know on text, in person she had been much more shy... compared to now.

but in fairness that could only be to him, he's kinda an asshole.

"i should've woke up annie so she could join. you're no fun." kenzie whined, she was only comfortable right now as she knew johnny couldn't fully see her due to it being dark.

yeah or she's just a little wild at the moment but we love that for her.

"put your clothes back on so we can go for a walk." johnny huffed, he couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the sentence that had left his mouth. 

"i'm going skinny dipping, with or without you." kenzie decider, dropping her phone on her pile of clothes before she headed off towards the lake.

"it's dark and dangerous!" johnny yelled out, in a last attempt to sway her. thankful it was dark and that he couldn't see her body clearly as he probably wouldn't be able to control himself, although knowing all her clothes were in a pile opposite him didn't leave too much to the imagination.  

"suck my dick!" kenzie yelled out in reply, laughing.

it was then that a squeal and splash was heard and johnny let out a long groan.

"i'm only joining in case you start drowning." johnny huffed out, not yelling but calling out loud enough for her to hear as his hands grabbed the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head.
