💠 Character Randomness 💠

Hiya~ so, basically, I'm freaking bored :^D jk, I actually have a lot of things to do, specially considering this book is finished ;-; I now have to go back to editing the next book so it can be published soon enough ^w^

But then I came up with this idea! I may or may not do the whole give each character a song thing, but since there's only three characters and I have a song for Miia and Cosette toether, it's prolly gonna be a realy short thing X,,,D

So basically I'm just gonna blurt some of the ideas behind the characters to explain why they're all the way they are X,,D

Let's start~

🌸So, the fist one is Zeher

My idea of her physical appearance has changed a lot since the very beginning, considering I was actually going to give her white hair but ended up not liking the idea because Tumi has white hair and she would have looked a lot like Ja'far

I never really went into detail about her body shape just because I didn't want to crowd the book with useless info, so I'll just do it here X,,D I don't really picture her being extremely curvy, but she also isn't a popsicle stick, you know? X,,D

When Kougyoku first found her I just imagine her looking like a bloodied raccoon, considering she never really cared about her looks so she brushed her hair like... once a week max XD

I also thought of giving her tanner skin so her eyes would be really noticeable, but I ended up realizing that's kind of Sinbad's charm and the last thing I wanted was for her to be a replica of him X,,D we ain't about that life in this book

Now, when it comes to personality, Zeher actually did go through a lot of changes just because at first I wanted her to be this salty, dead inside, dull-ass smol child who just grew up to be as blank as Masrur

The reason why I changed that was because while Miia and Cosette were with her, it was kind of a fun dynamic since they complemented each other, but once they died I wanted Zeher to take bits and pieces from them both and evolve into this weird hybrid X,,D

That's why the character will be getting a goofier side just like Miia's, she'll have this calmer and more understanding part like Cosette and will also have her salty and angry part of her older self

🌸Now I'm gonna talk about the twins

As I already kind of mentioned, I actually gave each of them their personalities just because I thought it would be fun to make them Zeher's complete opposites XD

This two characters may not seem that important later on, but I used them to give Zeher a character development in how she sees the world and how she deals with things, so they re kind of the main support for her moral

Miia is kind of the goofier happy-go-lucky king of character that just sort of pushes Zeher out of her comfort zone ^^ I also made her really clumsy because she's the one that pushes her teacher over the edge and forces her to have to always plan ahead of time so she doesn't get hurt

I don't really say it in the book but she's actually one of the main reasons why Zeher learns to relax a little while still being cautious enough to avoid chaos

Cosette on the other side is a way calmer character that helps Zeher learn how to put up with Miia

I made her be really patient with her sister because I wanted the main character to be in the middle of a family dynamic where they love each other no matter how stupid they are

Cosette also works as a tool to show Zeher how genuine love looks like, because she cares so deeply about her sister, it actually gives Zeher sympathy for them

I never really had any trouble designing them in either appearance or personality, since I already knew what I wanted their role to be

I will admit I did think of making Cosette survive so that she could die in the dungeon instead and thus make Zeher's character development more noticeable, but I really wanted her and Kougyoku meeting to be the point where she just completely leaves her previous life behind and that is exactly why the book is called the way it is

🌸Now I'm going to try explaining Zeher's mom as briefly as I can, because even if she only appears in flashbacks, she still plays an important role

Her name is actually Selene and I created her with the intention of planting the seed of doubt in Zeher, which was basically telling her how wonderful life could be outside the barracks

While it was Miia and Cosette who suggested they leave, Zeher wouldn't have actually tried anything if it weren't for her mother, considering her original point of view on anything she didn't know was that it would be troublesome

So Selene actually works as the little push that gets Zeher to leave as well as she works as the person who teaches her to trust others

I've been thinking of writing a few chapters showing how she had Zeher and all of that but I don't really know if it'd be a good idea lolz

This chapter is getting way longer than I fist intended it to X,D but there's a lot of things I wanna explain, so bare with me

What I'm gonna enlist right now are more of a bunch of random facts than anything else lol

1- Remember the damned cooking book the twins bought and didn't know how to use? Since Zeher kept it in her bag she ended up taking it to Kou and was actually the first book she read from start to finish. It's still her favorite book and people who don't know why are just confused af cuz she doesn't even cook

2- The reason why in the eight floor of the dungeon she had to fight against Miia, Cosette, Selene and Gyoku is not because they're her loved ones, but because the dungeon is actually from the dijin of devotion

-Miia and Cosette were devoted to her for a long time

-Selene was devoted to her role as a mother and refused to kill Zeher even if that meant Zeher would kill her

-She's very obviously devoted to Kouyoku, not the Ren family in general

3- Zeher's favorite color didn't end up being black but turquoise since she couldn't pick between green and blue (the twin's eye colors), so she ended up asking Kougyoku if there was a color between them both
