Christmas break. The best time of the year. I can't wait to go home to Canada, Florida is nice and all but I've definitely been missing some good old Tim Hortons, oh, and my family of course. Being a Junior in college is extremely stressful and there's nothing more that I need than a break right now.
"Hey Nora! I can't wait to see you text me when you land!" I hear my sisters voice practically scream through my phones speaker. I send her a quick text informing her that I got home safely and quickly make my way to baggage claim. After I grab my suitcase and get my Tim's coffee, I hail a cab to my house.
"NORA!" my sister exclaims as she runs through the door embracing me with a hug.
"I've missed you so much sky" I say, hugging her back. I've genuinely missed my family so much, going to school i'm a whole different country didn't give me much time to see them.
My mom strolls out of the door along with my sisters best friend Aaliyah.
"Hey sweetie, it's so good to see you." My mom says as we hug.
"Hi Nora, long time no see." Aaliyah chuckles as we also hug.
"So hows college been?" She asks as we all walk in to the house.
"Ya, hows hot and sunny Florida?" My sister adds on.
"Pretty great, I've been really busy lately but it's still fun." I answer.
When I get into my house I see my dad and Aaliyah's brother, mom and dad all talking until they see me and welcome me home.
"Look who's home!" My dad exclaims, bringing me in for a bear hug and handing me flowers.
"Aww dad, thank you!" I squeal taking the flowers. I hug Shawn, Mr.Manuel, and Mrs. Karen as they also welcome me home. My family has always been close friends with the Mendes family and I've definitely missed them as well.
