Complicated. (...sort of)

Chapter 10

"Come on Toothless we have to go to the forge." I said and opened his tail.

In a matter of minutes I was at the forge gathering potential materials for a gift. I sat on m stool and thought for a second. What would Astrid like? Maybe a new axe? No she just got a new one. A new spikey skirt? No I think she likes the one she has now. I wound up my back fin and then an i dea his me. I'm going to make her a flight suit! She's always liked mine so I think she would love one for her! (A?N: by the way guys Mercy is 9 I REALLY wanted to age her up so we could have adorable father-daughter moments. :P) I started sewing pieces of cloth and heating coals for the coil. I turned around and noticed my sewing needle missing.

"Where did I put that needle?" I mumbled. I turned around and noticed it dangling from a high besm in the ceiling. I sighed. "Ok Mercy you can come out now I know it was you."

"Aw if you know it was me then that isn't any fun. What do you need with another flight suit anyway?" She said as she jumped down from a beam.

"How do you know I'm making a flight suit?" I asked.

"I read your plans for them when you were gone. And also spring coils and cloth? I'm not Snotlout." She sassed. Definitely got that from Astrid.

"Just don't tell your mother but it's her gift for Snoggletog. You think she will like it?"

"I think so. She always talks about you and your stupid stunts with the flight suit. Oh yeah she's looking for you. She's getting worried that you got hurt while you were  flying." She said and started walking out.

"Don't tell her where I am!" I shouted after her. She gave a thumbs up and kept walking. Ok Hiccup concentrate you have to finish this.

Astrid's POV

I had just finished the changes to my Yak Nog when Mercy came through the door.

"Did you find your father?" I asked as she climbed onto her favorite ceiling beam.

"Oh yeah.. I uh... saw him flying... yeah he was flying!" She said awkwardly. Yep. She's hiding something. She only does that when she's trying to lie.

"What are you hiding?" I asked blankly.

"Psh me? hide something? That's ridiculous." She said and turned away.

"Alright well since you aren't lying come try my new and improved Yak Nog!" I said excitedly. I'll have to think of a new name since it doesn't have much yak in it anymore... She jumpedd down and took a sip from the cup.

"This is actually really good! You can barely taste the yak!" She said and took another sip.

"You really like it?" I asked and did a little bounce.

"Would I lie to you?" She said. I smiled.

"Lets hope Hiccup gets home soon I want him to try this!" I said and went back to the kitchen. Then realization hit me. I have no gift for Hiccup oh thor what am I going to do! Oh wait I think I had something I was going to give him a while ago but forgot to. I ran upstairs into my room, almost tripping over the steps as I ran.

"Mom what are you doing?!" I heard Mercy shout.

"I'm looking for your fathers Snoggletog gift! I know I had it in here somewhere!" 

"What was it?" She asked from my the doorway.

"It was a really nice set of tools that I had specially shipped from a neighboring island." I said and frantiaclly ran around the room.

"You mean the tools you hid in in your special chest you keep in my room?" She said and left the doorway and walked to her room.

"Yes those ones give them to me." I said and followed her. I grabbed the box and took it back to my room. I opened it to make sure all of the tools were still there. "Ok everthing is here. I'll give these to him tomorrow morning." I said and went downstairs to see Mercy opening the front door. "Hold on you cant go anywhere without telling me."
