Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are Remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past.
Man, born from dust, was strong, wise and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. Inevitable darkness - creatures of Grimm - set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void.
However, even the smallest Spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust".
But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone... Darkness will return.
Even with armies, guardians, monuments to a so-called "Free World". Even if there's no victory in strength.
"Perhaps victory is in the simpler things that everyone has long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul."
I heard him say to the witch in front of me, I didn't have much time, but... I thought then of all the circumstances that landed me here.

"Sapphire, are you sure about Enrolling into Haven Academy?" Mr. Robinson kept lecturing me regardless of all the times I talked about Haven for half my time here at Sanctum.
"Yes! More than anything." I responded with absolute certainty and a bright smile on my face.
He knew that this was the life I wanted.
He pauses and stares at my Huntsman Application.
"Well, Okay..." He stamped my approval and reference for the Headmaster of Haven.

Door Closes.
Sapphire Marigold, 16 years old, a recent graduate of Sanctum academy, top of her class, and a bit enthusiastic. She proceeded to call for her Aunt, "Hey, I'm home!"
She closes the door behind her, takes her shoes off by the entrance, and changes into indoor slippers.
"Hey, honey. How did the applying go?" She comes out from the living-room with a broom in her hands, of course with equal enthusiasm, if not more than Sapphire's.
"It went well, thanks for asking, Aunt Garnet." She takes off her jacket. "Of course, I passed! Going straight to Haven!" She jumps with excitement and even hugs Garnet in celebration.
As she calms down a bit. "Mr. Robinson really doubted me though. Like he didn't seem sure I should go for Haven." She puts her belongings by the stairs leading to her room.
"Honey, I'm pretty sure he just worried about you being a Huntress... It's not an easy task. And you're his favorite student. Also, there's safer academies like Beacon." Garnet laughed.
"I know but Haven is where Crystal and I made the plan for. So I'm sticking to it." I said.
"Well okay, hun. Come on, I made dinner. Tomorrow you shall find out about Haven. For now, let's relax, okay?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry, I am just anxious and excited at the same time." Sapphire's stomach growls loudly, awkwardly interrupting the conversation.
"I know. Come on Kiddo."Garnet brings her over for some food.
