Part 2

This was unfamiliar to him. Having always grown up with the reassurance that guards were around him twenty-four seven made him able to sleep with ease. But after having been woken up from his slumber with a start, the sounds of something coming from the down the cave made the prince's heart race.

He had been sleeping peacefully, but... something did wake him up. And while he knew Bakugou could be the cause, Bakugou would have continued calling out until Todoroki answered back. The noise that had woken him from his slumber moments ago... was a single occurrence. And now, he couldn't help but feel as if the culprit was trying to be quiet.

Todoroki glanced quickly over to you, seeing as you had only stirred softly in your sleep. Your body turning slightly to rest more comfortably. The sight of you calm and relaxed made the male try to do the same. After all, if you were not worried, then he shouldn't be either. This place was messing with him... you said it would.

But then it came again: an unexpected noise. But rather than being a loud and startling noise... this sounded much different. It sounded like hushed whispers that came from down the cave. Like someone or something was making its way towards the pair of you currently.

Todoroki listened intently, one hand on the sword that had been resting near him. His eyes looking for any sort of movement coming from the entranceway that was also the exit. If something was making its way to him... he would at least have the upper hand and expect it.

And so, the male positioned himself upwards against the wall, trying to remain quiet and listen to see if he could pick up on anything. So when nothing else came his way, he almost thought he had dreamed this entire thing.

However... as his eyes began to droop again and allow him to fall asleep once more another noise came. This time, it was loud enough to make even you groan in your sleep as a face of unpleasantry passed over your features.

More hushed sounds and then nothing. Like the small noise you had made was enough to send off whatever wandering entity had been coming near. And while the noises never came back, Todoroki's racing heart could not be stopped.

And so, it wasn't until the first buds of light peeking through the cave that let him finally drift off again. But, his dreams were no longer pleasant... and neither was the worry he had for both his and your safety.

Whether it was the island of the Gods or not... he didn't know. But, he did know, that he hoped whatever it was did not return.

If there was one thing Todoroki was still getting used to doing on his own, it was waking up. Back at the palace, there would always be a servant there at precisely the same time every morning to wake him up and go over what his activities for the day would be.

The tightening of his clothing as he was informed exactly what his father was forcing him into would always make his morning a reminder of the lifestyle he was born into. The rules, regulations, and forced outings. The only times of freedom he had been allowed growing up being time with Fealty, or during sword training.

It wasn't until two years ago he discovered the secret passages, but he knew that at least he had that small escape. But even so, the freedom he had found in those passages were nothing compared to now.

And even as he woke up against the cold ground, with a soft kink in his neck and some drool around his lips... the prince couldn't help but feel a bit happy that he had at least been given the option to embark on this journey... and also decide this was where he slept.
