Red string

A/n: This poem was inspired by Szin's "The String" animatic.

Red thread delicately wrapping

Pinkies and ankles, of couples laughing.

Delicately held, one snip

And the frays come undone. Snap.

Tears pool too easily. Drip.

Shake me back to life. Tap.

Remains of a winding, flowing scarf,

Held onto firmly; pull out a needle.

And maybe frays will rip out my heart,

And maybe patterns will have knots,

And maybe it'll snap, and I'll have to start over,

And maybe it'll snap, and I'll have none left,

But it's okay right now,

My string will lead to you soon eventually.

Or were you just tangled in? If I unwrap you, will I be led to a completely different path?
