Hey! This is just an idea I've had for a while and I thought I'd write it down ( this is kinda just me setting the scene and hopefully this fic will be longer than my last one )
______________________________________________________________________________
Bright lights blinded them as The Doctor's new 'Fam' crashed down the hallway. Shots skimmed Graham's head as he shouted "Over there Doc!". He pointed to a door to the right of them, its frame illuminated in the chaos. Sparks flew over Ryan's head causing him to duck blindly. A steel beam lay fallen at his feet. Tripping over, he smashed his head on the cold ground. Suddenly, Graham was next to him, nursing his forehead, sodden with blood.
As The Doctor and Yaz dashed through the door, The Doctor's screwdriver fell from her tailored overcoat, clattering onto the floor. With a spark, the screwdriver glitched, rewiring the electronic network of the cast steel door. It slammed shut. Graham, Ryan, the sonic, and the murderous gondeęrrians on the other side.
"No,no,no,no!" Stuttered the Doctor as she spun around, revealing the tightly sealed door behind them. "Sonic it!" Suggested Yaz. As the Doctor started to fish for it in her deep, grey pockets her face dropped. "It's gone" She whispered. The Doctor and Yaz looked at each other, and then at the door. "It's on the other side." They sighed simultaneously. "Great" Yaz whispered, taking in their surroundings, "we're stuck".
They were in a vast amphitheater. Ahead of them lay the newly founded technology harboured from a distant planet of the 45th century, described the Doctor.
"We're in some sort of theatre." Yaz exclaimed, glancing at the Doctor.
"It's worse than that,... we're in an arena" The Doctor whispered. "The Gondeęrian sacrificial amusement park."
"Really?" Questioned Yaz.
"Well no, it's actually called The Sanctuary, but I like my name better" she giggled.
Yaz smiled. She found the Doctors laugh infectious. She found herself lost in thought as her eyes met the Doctors ancient yet youthful ones. A few seconds passed, and Yaz slowly became conscious of how long she'd been staring at her. "This isn't the time for laughing" Yaz smiled, snapping herself out of her trance, "Ryan and Graham are in danger. We have to figure out a way to help them."
"No, you're right, sorry. Ok Doctor, think. Right, so. It's likely that with Ryan's injury and Grahams undying loyalty to him they've probably both been captured. If so they've been taken back to the emporium and are likely being questioned on our surroundings."
"So we need to contact them, if they have the sonic, could we use this stuff?" Suggested Yaz, gesturing to the technology that lay ahead of them.
"Yazmin Khan you are brilliant!" Marvelled the Doctor, beaming at her. "Although I think our persuers may have a little bone to pick with you calling the tech they've spent millennia harbouring 'stuff' but we'll go with it."
"Are you taking their side?" Said Yaz, playfully.
"Of course not!" The Doctor replied, with a laugh.
"Good, cos if you were you'd probably be better of with them, if you wanted to stay alive." She giggled.
The Doctor laughed, and gave Yaz a light slap on the arm. Her eyes sparkled. "Yazmin Khan, I could never be against you."
Still smiling their eyes lingered, and for a moment, the world stood still.
They were snapped back to reality by the sound of static, as a spark flew of a polarity destabiliser nearby.
"Right then. Mission save Ryan and Graham is go!" The Doctor cried.
Yaz laughed " I like it."
"Good cos we haven't got time to think of a new one" smiled the Doctor, "Now hold this lever."
