Remember

I could remember, when the waters was still full of life. The colors would dance beneath the surface, while the fishes would go along with the current. The corals still vibrant, and home to many.

Whenever I resurfaced to see the shore, I would see the pristine white shore, while the trees will sway gently with the wind. Sometimes I would run along the shore, feeling the breeze against my skin. I would walk further to see so many fascinating creatures above the waters. They look so colorful! I never knew that it was also as colorful as the sea! I eventually made friends with them.

I was really fascinated by Avi! She said she was a... bird? I think that was what she said.  She would always do awesome tricks in the air! I even tried what Avi did, though all that happened to me was land painfully in the water... I couldn't even move for a few minutes! I also met a turtle! His name is Shell! We would swim far off the shore, or even help him find food. Both of them are my best friends!

What I really loved was the nights. The moon would be reflected, and the light would filter through the surface. I would look at my surroundings, and it was only illuminated by the gentle moonlight. There were no obstructions whatsoever. Some of the marine life would look as if they were glowing.

It was all beautiful, until I saw something strange.

It was transparent, sack like, and saw some of it ahead. I followed it and saw more of it. In different colors, shredded, or even stuck on the seafloor. This part of the sea was more cloudy, and it was hard to see. I resurfaced to see many of them littered both land and sea. I could barely see any other life forms, except for them

I got nauseous lingering from this area, so I head back to my safe zone. The next day, I told Avi and Shell about it. I even told them to be careful.

For some reason, they just vanished.  I never knew what happened. I was still waiting for them. I waited for them for days.

For weeks.

For months.

I waited to the point it's almost been 8 years.

I've waited so much I didn't realize that, the same sack thing was reaching my safe place.

In a span of a few weeks, it began to increase in number. The life in here slowly faded, making everything dull. I tried to remove them, but they kept going. It was an endless trail.

Damage was done.

The sea was dead.

I only floated to follow, where it was trailing from.

It was just  them.

What did this planet do to them to make it hurt so much?

I chuckled dryly, as I felt weaker than before.

I was just there floating in the sea.

And that's what all I can remember of the dying world.
