"Ayo E!" "Get up get up" I opened my eyes and winced at the bright light flooding my room. "what's goin on?" I said now seeing my older brother Rio stuffing my stuff into my book bag.
"Just do what I fuckin say E!" Finally being awake enough to feel the tension. I hopped up throwing a wife beater on and slang two of my already packed book bags on.
I heard it then "get on the ground...NOW!" 12. moms finally got caught. Time to go, I cracked my window open and slid sideways out onto the concrete.
Not going through the system we getting the hell outta there. Ain't no time to cry it's time to run. Gotta make it to the next projects before 12 makes it to the back.
Where we was gonna go I had no idea but Rio did he had the whole thing planned out. The man of the house always been always will be.
"Walk down main" Rio broke the silence "wait we gone to the Bronx" we lived right outside it but Ian never been in no Bronx projects.
"Yeah gram D" gram d visited every year around Christmas to drop some money off but we never told her about our own problems cleaned up real nice so we looked like we was livin right.
"You talk to her?" I cautiously asked knowing how Rio was. "Yup a month ago told her about everything she was pissed but connect told me bout the raid so I knew this was comin"
Did this nigga say connect? I know he not selling we talked about this. Never said nothing after that just let the bounce of my basketball put me in a trance in tune with my feet.
Basketball basketball basketball, my only passion in life Rio was a boxer put his heart and his body into it. All I could focus on every waking hour was basketball.
"We finna live better E better than ever I got u forever never forget that."
