We went to dinner and walked through a park talking and talking... It felt like I had known him for ages, almost like a old friend. I ran to the swings and he started laughing as I swung higher and higher. He jumped onto the swing closest to me and joined in the fun. After a bit I saw him leap off the swing and fly into the air-- and then land with all the grace of a three-legged camel. I followed suit, landing hard and rolling over once. When I opened my eyes I was looking up at the immense, dark sky. The stars were so lovely that I didn’t realize Fra’s hand had found mine... It felt almost like hand-holding was a normal thing for us. Every time he had touched me, whether it be a hand on my shoulder, or his hand in mine, I had felt something strange that could only be described as falling. It felt as if I was falling into a bottomless pit, I should’ve been terrified but I wanted to discover what was coming... My train of thought was interrupted when Fra spoke up,
“So, dinner then?” he asked.
“Dinner, yeah...” I was surprised at how empty I felt when he let go... “What do you like?” I questioned.
“You... piside... uh I mean, you pick...” He stammered
“Piside?” I laughed, “A mixture of Pick and--”
“Decide, yes. I made it up.” He cut in proudly
“Fine.” I giggled since when do I giggle? I thought to myself, “Know any good sushi places?”
“Indeed I do mademoiselle.” He said, leading the way. We walked in silence for a bit when my curiosity got the better of me.
“So ‘Marius’ have you got a Cosette in your life?” I asked jokingly.
“Well... I think so... there’s this one--”
“Who cares about your lonely soul?” I teased, hiding my hurt as I portrayed an angry Enjolras. “But really, what’s she like?”
“Loud, crazy, fun, excellent singer... I’ve only just met her...” his voice was soft and dreamy, and trailed off for a moment. “Do you know Elizabeth yet?” He suddenly asked in a more normal voice.
“Elizabeth...?”
“She plays Cosette.” He raised an eyebrow. “You’ll have to meet the cast if you’re going to be in it.”
“I’m not--” I protested swatting at his arm.
“Not yet.” He cut me off and gently swatted me back.
