It was a rainy day at school again.
I wonder why I can hear the sound of the pitter-patter of the rain drops on the window even if I had my earphones on, that is weird i thought while flipping that one note my boyfriend slip to one of my textbooks. I sighed stretched my neck and saw my classmate, Cheri mouthing words and trying to get my attention.
I took the right earpiece off and blinked twice as she spoke "Hey did you watch the music tv yesterday? They have released Typhoon's new single!" while tapping my desk as loud as she can. Well, wow.
With a breath of dismay, i told her
"Nah, i have no interest in idols." I really thought she's going ramble on something important. I concentrated once again on the note i was reading.
Cheri spoke with disbelief "Really? They are so cool and they sing wonderful songs! You should listen to them! Let's watch them together later at my house!"
See? This girl has too much time in her hands to flail over those Typhoon guys, those band members they all look the same to me.
"I'm sorry i have other plans today after all." I told her finally.
"How boring! Well, we still have next time okay?" She smiled and jumped to the person next to me and asked her the same thing.
I can't think of anything else but Dion, he wanted to talk and meet at the rooftop and it was written on this letter I just read. School bell rang and I quickly went not even bothering about the rain.
There he is, standing with that cobalt blue umbrella i gave him last month.
"Hey" i shivered and went under the same umbrella.
"What is going on?" I asked while looking at his eyes.
"You see..." he paused. Yes I can see that. The look of discomfort. I do not like ugly surprises I told myself as I wait for him to continue.
"I want to get straight to it." He reached for my hand and I started to feel the warmth. To my surprise, he handed the umbrella to me as he spoke.
"Hana, I don't think i can stick to this relationship anymore. I want to find myself, i need to tell you now or else we will both get hurt" he spoke too fast as if he was getting rid of all the air from his lungs. I couldn't keep up.
What? Why? Like that? Suddenly? These questions started to cloud my thoughts.
Say something Hana. I told myself. Not only it was the warmth of his hand that i had felt. I start to feel the heat on my damn eyes now.
Before i can say anything he went on, leaving me alone with this umbrella, without any explanation. Just like that.
Before i can even cry, i heard sound of the bell again.
"Good Afternoon" a voice echoed all around. It was the school broadcasting club.
"It was a rainy afternoon indeed. But tomorrow we all hope for a sunny and bright day since we'll have a school event tomorrow! Do not forget to turn in all applications for all departments. Principal is counting on us to make this event a success! Well then to end this broadcast, please listen to Typhoon's new single Let's hold hands. Thank you."
🎶🎵
With you smiling by my side, we remain in this place while the typhoon passes
Since you are so stubborn and craving for company, for the moment, even if's a little sudden, this will be my duty:
Let's hold hands, forget about words and seize this instant,
Because the long silences spent in thought are enough
Let's feel the miracle of today together
🎵🎶
One tear broke free, the rest followed in an unbroken stream as I listened.
