"I believe the ladies of the court could learn a great deal from a girl like you." Tyrion stated as he looked at her appreciatively before he spoke, "Why don't you come with me, be the Hand's lady?" He offered, getting a radiant smile from the whore as she got on his bed eagerly.
"Because the King needs a Hand and the Hand..." Tyrion didn't even get to finish his sentence as Shae kissed him enthusiastically before she spoke seductively, "I know what a Hand needs."
She then kissed him again as they got lost in the throes of carnal passion.
<Minutes later, The Gift (Brandon's Gift)...>
Jon rode hard, wanting to get to Riverrun as soon as he could as barks sounded from his right.
The Younger Bastard of Winterfell turned his head and saw his white direwolf, Ghost, running alongside him before he called, "Ghost?"
He then heard the sounds of riders behind him, riding after him with torches quickly and catching up to him.
Jon urged his steed on forward, not intending to die now, when he had a war to get and a father to avenge. Nothing was going to stop him.
He deftly dodged a tree branch that would have taken his head, but the rider closest to him couldn't see that well in the dark and with a lady-like scream, fell off from his horse.
"Samwell!" Pyp's voice echoed from the back as Jon slowed his horse down and turned back to his compatriots as Pyp asked, "Is he dead?" "No, he's not dead." Grenn answered as Sam asked from the ground, "Did we get him?"
"Come on, help me get him up." Pyp asked Grenn whilst Jon sighed and rode back to those three morons that he called friends.
"Lucky you've got plenty of padding." Pyp praised Sam as Jon lightly rode in front of his friends, not expecting them to have been chasing him as all three turned to him, Pyp talking determinedly, "We're taking you back to where you belong."
"I belong with my brother." Jon stated as he dismounted his steed.
"But we're your brothers now." Sam protested as Grenn spoke grimly, "They'll kill you if they find out you've gone."
"They'll kill you if they know you came after me. Go back." Jon retorted sternly.
"Sam told us everything. We're sorry about your father." Pyp spoke, giving his condolences but Grenn had to speak, "But it doesn't matter. You took the oath. You can't leave."
"I have to." Jon spoke, his voice calming down, but Grenn was stern, "You can't." He repeated.
"You said the words..." "I don't care about..." Jon's interruption of Grenn was stopped when Sam began reciting the oath of the Nights Watch.
"Hear my words and bear witness to my vow..." Sam spoke.
"To hell with all of you." Jon snarled, but Pyp stopped Jon form going any further. "Night gathers and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall live and die at my post."
Grenn took up his part as the three spoke the words of the Nights Watch Oath, "I am the sword in the darkness... The watcher on the walls... The shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Nights Watch, for this night and all nights to come." They finished as Jon remained silent.
Sam turned and walked over to a fallen Longclaw, picking up the Valyrian Steel blade in its sheath before offering it to Jon, who took the sword as he made his choice... to keep to his vows as a Brother of the Nights Watch.
He could only hope that his brothers in the South could survive on their own, without their customary third sword to fight beside them.
