Well, the only time we see them as a couple--I'm pretty sure, anyway--is in Haunted, but despite this I think they would work if they had a bit more development. A story arc dedicated to them, maybe. I kind of wish we could see a bit more of Johnny in general, too.
Conclusion: Yeah, why not?
