Shadow clan

chapter I - Shadow Caln

One day in the year 772 there was a violent battle between the great empire known as the Golden Dragon. They are known for their power and skills in battle. The rebellion knew that they won't stand a chance but they came together and overpowered the empire. The rebellion won the war that year and for that, everyone celebrated it, while the empire went back to their city walls. A lot of people have died in that war sacrificing their lives for the future, that included Eli's mum and dad. He was only young when he got the news of his parents.

" Eli get up, what are you doing!"

An unexpected shout from downstairs woke me up. It was grandfather, he's the chief here in this village. We're known as the shadow clan but sometimes they like to call us the death clan or just death. I'm not sure why they call us that but when we leave our village we just say we're from the Mist clan.

Today is special, It's the day I get to leave the village all by myself. You have to be 19 years of age, all this time I've been doing is helping around the village and going to school. We have been told that we can choose something in the secret hall, which has stuff from weapons to magic books.

"Eli you are now 19 years old that means you can go to the secret hall"
"Really grandfather, oh boy!"

I started to run towards the hall excited to see what was there.

"Come on grandfather"

As soon as the chief got to the wall he did a shadow magic that cloaked us in a purple-black mist. We walked through the wall where I saw the stuff in the secret hall.

"You May only choose one thing so choose wisely"

I gave a nod that I understood, I looked around. There were so many things to choose from it was hard but I saw a box covered in a black material. Which looked like a ribbon so I picked it up and walked back to Grandfather.

"OK grandfather I choose this one"
"Are you sure? I never seen anyone get that item"
"Yes grandfather, I want this one"
"Ok ok"

We left the hall and headed back home. I have been thinking about what might be in this box. So I got up and grabbed the box, I jumped out of the window and quickly headed to the shadow forest. Just in case something went wrong, I unravelled the ribbon-like material and something fell out of it.

It was a letter there was no name on it, so I opened it to see what it said.

To whom reads this letter
  In front of you, there is a box. Inside this box, I made a potion which I called it 'shadow walker'. This will allow you to walk quietly and quickly and move in and out of shadows enjoy this potion I made.

After reading the letter I opened the box and saw the clear bottle with a dark purple liquid inside. I put the letter down grabbed the clear bottle and drank it all. When I finished the potion I felt sick I ran to the first bush I saw and vomited. It was horrible it's like someone cooked a week-old fish and gave it to you. After a couple of minutes at the bush, I went back to the box, packed up and went to a creek. I saw a low branch on a tree so I climbed the tree trunk to get to the branch and when I did I got in a good spot and went to sleep.
