"It's over. I'm sorry Jesse," My now ex-boyfriend said, walking away from me. I stood there in the middle of the school's empty hallway. I couldn't move. It's all a joke. a sick little joke. I tell myself. I laugh at myself. I run down the hall away from him. I couldn't help but scream. He was the only one for me. The only one who didn't think I was a total nerd. How could he do this!?

~*~

I cried in my room.  "Dinner Jesse!" My mom yelled up the hall. I wiped my eyes before leaving my room. I went down the stairs slowly, one by one. My father walked by and slapped me on the arm playfully. " Leave me alone," I scowled him. I don't listen to what he says next, knowing it will make me cry again. " What the hell happened to you?"  I looked at my sister who was looking at me with disgust. I ignore her too.

I sit at my normal seat at the table. My parents keep glancing at me with worry in there eyes. We eat in silence until my mom asks a simple question I was trying to avoid. I run back up the stairs to get away from the question I knew sooner or later would pop up. I slam the door, making the baby pink walls shake.

I call my best friend, Ally, explaining the whole thing. It felt good telling someone, but I know my heart will sink when I see him again in the hallway where we broke up,  where we first met. Where we would meet everyday after school  in the same spot, same time. Where we first hugged. Where are whole story was.  The story of two juniors who fell in love with each other during freshmen year.

My feet took me over to our photo album. I  looked at every page, every smiling kid in the pictures. I made me feel sick to see us so happy. Two nerds in love.

Before thinking, I ripped the pages out. I took the pictures out of the holders and ripped them to shreds. Every picture. Every page. Every smiling picture of us was gone now. I collapsed onto the floor, letting the tears fall. I laid there until I fell asleep, the tears coming off my face and onto the hard wooden floor.
