Since I was a little girl I've never depended on anyone else but myself.
"You can't trust anyone. Ever." is what my mother always told me everyday before I went to bed since I was 6 years of age.
And because of this, I ended up not trusting my own mother either.
***
"Ellie? Come down for breakfast." my mother said in a monotone voice "Or not, It doesn't make much of a difference." she continued , unfazed with what she just said.
"Right." I sigh, and head downstairs.
"I won't be having breakfast today mom. Thanks for the offer though." I smile politely "Mhm, right. Close the door on the way out." she snorts, not even bothering to look at me or spare me a two second glance.
I roll my eyes, grab my backpack, and walk out the door.
I've been homeschooled since I can remember, I didn't have any friends, but I was fine with it. Because having friends means trusting them, and trusting them means unconciously loving them, and loving them means I'd have to be put in a position where I know that I could potentionally lose them.
And yeah that's defo not happening.
But my mom said and I quote, "I'm tired of seeing you around all the goddamn time." and before I know it, I'm walking towards the entrance of Green. A school where all the class A assholes and rich kids go to.
"Damn." I say to myself, "How'd my mom afford this place?"
We never really had that much money, I mean we were comfortable, but not too comfortable. And it makes me wonder how she got me into this school.
"Okay, Ellie." I start talking to myself in a low whisper. "Trust no one, and you'll be fine." I suck in a long breath and push the glass doors open, seeing all the kids in this school shocked me really. They were all dressed so nicely and quite frankly, made me feel way underdressed.
I was wearing a blue, oversized hoodie with black skinny jeans and combat boots. I love that for me
Once I start walking, all eyes were on me. And I started to get really uncomfortable at the fact that some were staring at my boobs, some were laughing at my outfit, and some probably were just jealous.
I'm a solid 10.
Just kidding Im like a 6
I ignore the looks and whispers, and go to the headmasters office.
I was a few minutes late, which apparently bothered her. "Hi. Sorry I'm late, got a little carried away. I'm Ellie Woods. Transfer student?" I say, and she takes a minute to grab the names of the transfer students this year, until she finds my name.
"Mrs. Woods, I teach all my students to be punctual and on time, and if you can't follow that one simple rule, we are going to have a problem." She states, dead serious.
Jeez, anger issues much?
"Not to worry, it won't happen again." I assure her, as she hands me a piece of paper with my dorm room and locker number and password.
I walk out of the office, and find my locker, only to see a load of guys circling around it, or the one next to it, rather.
I try to push them aside gently so they won't notice, but they were so heavy, eachone of them at least over 6'2.
They were laughing about something in particular, and they didn't notice me.
I clear my throat, and they turned to my direction, some of their faces fall flat and some form into a half smirk.
Damn
"Yeah, hi. That's kind of my locker you're circling around, so if you guys would move, that'd be nice." I state, crossing my arms over my chest.
The guys look at eachother and laugh, the other one just shrugs and looks at his phone, unfazed and not interested in anything.
"You gonna tell us your name new girl ?" one of the blue eyed guys asked. A sexy half smirk plastered on their faces.
Damn they're all hot...
"If I wanted to tell you my name, I would've told you earlier." I snap, annoyed that they wouldn't move.
"Damn, you're a fiesty little thing." another guy says, amd continues "Im Nick" And he points at each one of his friends while introducing them.
"That's Ryan, Wyatt, and Reece." Ryan and Wyatt wave, but Reece just stared at me, and rolled his eyes.
"We told you our names, tell us yours."
"My name is none of your concern, but since you probably won't move the fuck away from my locker if I don't give it to you, I'll tell you. It's Bob. Bob Anton." I say, sarcasm laced around my words.
They all let out a chuckle, but Reece just looks up at his phone and starts getting slightly amused by me, but still not showing anything close to a smile.
I gotta admit, damn that guys is fine as hell..
"Fine, it's Ellie Woods. Now move aside."
I push them out of the way and start entering the password to my locker, still feeling their eyes burn through me.
I put my stuff in my locker and turn on my heel.
They're still looking at me. Nice.
"Enjoying the view?" I ask them, and Reece lets out a slight smirk, barely noticeable, but it's there.
Now, I gotta get to the dorms.
I walk away from them, without saying bye or anything, and find my dorm room.
"Ah there it is, room 207"
I insert the keys into the knob, and open the door, I noticed there's only one room, so I enter it.
There are two beds, both queensized.
The other side was white and untouched, no design, to stuff in it, empty. I'm assuming that's my side of the room.
The other side, was painted black and had plenty of boyish stuff.
Condoms, Perfume, Headphones, and some sort of hair product
"The school wouldn't let me room with a boy." I convince myself, and start unpacking.
I put on my blue bedsheets and
Once I was done, I stuck my glow in the dark stars on the roof, I also put some on my roommate's side of the roof as a present.
I hear the doorknob jiggle and I turn back, ready to meet my new roomie.
She opens the door, and-
"Reece?"
"Ellie?"
Not a she.
