Chapter 40 - The New Teacher is Born

We panicky hide as a teacher inside comes running out from the school to meet Miyoko.

"Good morning. So you must be Miss Miyoko Neyane? The student teacher?"

"Y-yes ma'am."

"Nice to meet you. Please don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions."

"T-Thank you."

(Student teacher...?!)

We look each other in awe.

Small, energetic elementary students file into the school in droves.

"Good morning, Miss!"

Greeted the children.

"M-Morning!" Miyoko replied nervously.

(She got stage fright...)

It would seem that even Miyoko gets nervous the first time trying the real thing.

The children look curiously at Miyoko.

"Huh? Who's that lady?" ask one of the little kid.

"I...I'm Miyoko Neyane."

"She's a student teacher, and she's going to be teaching at this school for a while."

"Oh..." said one of the kids.

"Whaaaat?!" awed the girl in unison.

We are all far more surprised by this news than the children.

(Miyoko?...A teacher?!)

"P-pleased to meet you all!"

The children's eye suddenly sparkles.

"Yay! A new teacher!" cheered the children.

"Come to our class, Miss Miyoko!" one of the hyper active boys tug her towards their classroom.

"W-w-wait?"

"Come to my class too!" tugged the twin drill girl.

"Ah! I will I promise I will."

She is all smiles at the children as they lead her further into the school. We all catch our breaths, looking to one another.

"S-so her dream is..."

"Y-yeah."

"To be..."

"A teacher..?!"

we awed as we finished each other's sentences.

That evening we went to a café near the elementary school to kill some time.

"Well, that was a surprise..." said Rei while awkwardly smiling.

"Indeed...who would have thought Miyoko would become a student teacher?" replied Raika.

"Yeah..."

(So that's why she was wearing a suit.)

Kasumi takes a deep breath before speaking.

"If she's a student teacher..."

"Then it means her dream job must be..."

"Yeah." Agreed Yomiko.

"It has to be that..." confirmed Rei.

"Hello, what're you all talking about?"
