The New Power (A DB OC insert.)

Chapter 3

I'm going to wake up with my throat slit aren't I? Olven reluctantly opened his eyes and was thankful that his throat remained intact and nothing else was missing or cut. He got up and looked inside the tent, Caulifla still lay there, but, in a different position than he had set her down. Guess I'll go get food for us. Olven exited the tent and knew he had to try something other than bird, so he hunted for something else instead. A creature with short and stubby legs, lots of fur, horns and a face that was slender. The creatures snout had marks along it, resembling stripes. It's eyes were set to the side, and it chewed on the fauna. Whatever this thing is, hope it tastes good. He killed the beast the same way he had killed the birds as it was quick, clean and maximized edibility of the creatures. He carried the meal back to camp and ripped a leg off, setting it on his makeshift stove to cook. He also decided to grab some spices and seasoned the meat, hoping Caulifla wouldn't be too unhappy with it. And now we wait, guess I'll do something productive while waiting for her to wake up. Bah, I got nothing....wait! Trying to reach that form again....that's what I'll do! Now how to go about doing this.....maybe it's something I have to reach for? Let's try it! Olven then searches his own insides for anything that could be the transformation, and finds what feels to be a sphere of lava inside him. He tries to press against it and pushes as hard as he can, eventually breaking the barrier and once again feeling the fire burn through him. This feels just as good as the first time, like I'm a volcano! Olven couldn't help but feel satisfied about his situation. He was so much more powerful now! And he could even take this power to its limits and break the boundary to become even more powerful! It was like a dream come true to him, that and more actually. He had everything he wanted. He had friends, good and fun friends! He had a new home to explore and experience! He had even more power! AHAHAHAAH! I must train harder to become stronger! I must prove I'm the strongest thing alive! Heh, calm down Olven. He can feel himself detransform and begin calming back down. Once he had regained his composure he looked inside of the tent to see that Caulifla had still not awoken. Uhm....that might not be good...... Have I made a terrible mistake!? But his worries were cut short once she mumbled something and stretched out. At first she opened her eyes and seemed heavily confused, rubbing them and confusion being replaced with surprise. Then he could hear her sniff the now done meat in the air and hold her stomach, as if it had spoken it's hunger to her. After a couple seconds she looked up and over at Olven whom smiled and pointed towards the fire, and sat back down to be with his thoughts.

"So punk, you knock me out and then make me sleep at your place?"

"Well, I didn't know where you live so it was the least I could do and hey! At least I made food and didn't make you sleep out here!"

"Whatever, next time we fight I'll make sure your bones are powder for making me this sore!"

Olven smiles to himself before quipping," yeah, the only time you're winning is in those dreams of yours!"

"As if! Plus, why would something as weak as you be in my dreams?"

Olven couldn't help but sarcastically comment,"because I am a devilishly handsome rogue whomst has smitten thine heart!"

"Guess it's my turn to say in your dreams!"

"And who says that has to be in my dreams? Hahahaha! I don't even need to see your face to know your reaction!"

"Shut up! You're an absolute dumbass you know that?"

"So what if I choose to act childish and carefree? Is that wrong? No!"

"Bleh!"

"And I thought I was being childish! Tsk tsk tsk!"

"Well I don't care if I'm being childish! At least I'm not stupid!"
