It was a frigid night. Monsters roamed the forest, Humans hid in their homes. It's always been like this. The misfits come out at night to chat and roam, while the regulars stayed inside, usually with a gun and bear traps surrounding their house. Step one foot into that forest and your most likely to get killed, but that didn't stop one girl.
Her name was Jesse; also known as Jessique Cheyenne Shadowheart, daughter of The Shadow Realm King and Queen.
Black hair, blue eyes, black feathered wings, usually wearing a dark gray camo hoodie, a white T-shirt, jeans, black shoes, black fingerless gloves, fangs, and peppered freckles. Her parents always told her to never even look at the forest, but she never harked. One day she finally made decision to venture out into the dangerous woods at night; the worst possible time. Curious girl, hm? She grabbed her dark grey camouflage hoodie and headed out while her parents were sound asleep.
She took a deep breath and entered the forest, holding up a tiny lantern her mother had given her for christmas. She held the latern high, lighting a pathway through the forest that she followed. The bushes rustled, startling Jesse. Something was watching her. A creature jumped out of the bushes-
