Embers of rainbow colered sparks rained down from the dark sky accompanied by boisterous explosive booms of enthusiasm. Emily could barely remain content at the sight of the fireworks. In fact, she hated loud sounds, so the New Year's celebration in Sixton wasn't much fun for her. There were parades, instruments of sorts, cocktail poppers, and the fireworks, not to mention the hundreds of local people screaming, cheering, and talking. Emily's parents suggested that she go (as in forced) so she could perhaps make friends; she was rather lonely for 14, being the shy and independent girl she was. Emily had most of her mother's features, such as brunette, curly hair, a small figure, and her taller height, but were equally balanced by her father's best features as well, such as her sharp jawline, athletic-type sort of legs, hazel eyes and being a bit slimmer than most girls her age. She had only been on Cracker Street for about half an hour, but decided to head home. She already missed her two cats, Koko an Yum Yum, and reading in her cozy loft bed with the two of them sandwhiching her between the sheets.
