// This was based off some prompt I think.

Ba dum, ba dum, ba dum...

"Are you even fucking listening?" the yakuza almost growled in exasperation. He let out a sigh before he swallowed up his annoyance. "You're so... Off lately, I wonder if it's the coffee."

"T-the coffee, sure," the taller male absentmindedly granted, his eyes looking down to his desk. The ticking of the clock on the wall was upsetting, making him feel anxious. Fuyuhiko could swear he saw a drop of sweat run down the side of Makoto's face. It was, even if he wouldn't exactly admit out loud, worrying.

Makoto Naegi was a hard-worker man, that cared too much for everyone and too little for himself, that was okay with burning himself out with work so the world can be reborn. For his not-so-new assistant, sometimes it was frustrating; he drowned himself in coffee and sometimes forgot (or decided not to) sleep nor eat properly.

"Water, that exists. You should go for that, because I'm not bringing you that awful coffee you have here until you get some rest. Let me do my fucking work just this once."

The brunet snapped out of it at that, apparently, a gulp being heard. "Ah, y-yeah! You know what, Kuzuryuu? I could really use some sleep right now, too many things to worry about are never good." And with that, he closed the laptop he was writing on without even saving the document and got up of his chair, flashing a now more confident smile to the blond. "You too, get some sleep. You do too much for me, so let's both call it a day."

"Fine?" the other agreed, unknowingly, as he saw his boss rush through the door, slipping the jacket of his suit on in a clear hurry. The mafiosa was left in uncertainty, thinking of how weird that behavior was. He didn't even have to lecture him to leave, he finally did it!

It was confusing, he thought. A part of him liked that he was taking better care of himself, but it was odd... the Ultimate Hope usually puts up a fight, right? Why didn't he now?

Ba dum, ba dum, ba dum...

Two days since that talk. Four since the bite. Makoto had woken up at midnight, after surprisingly sleeping for a whole day. His phone had notified him of every single message and missed call: Fuyuhiko, Kyoko, Byakuya...

Even if he was good at lying, at pretending, he had decided that it was best not to call back. He was not in a suitable condition as to do so, his head spinning and his body aching non-stop. His stomach growled over and over again, complaining about usual food not working, complaining about the coffee losing every single one of his effects on it, complaining about how he desperately needed, well...

... blood. Obviously. But he's not having it.

This whole situation was ridiculous! The moment he was bitten he didn't even believe vampires existed and now? Now he was turning into one, just like that.

... He covered himself with the sheets of his bed, glancing over at the phone he had just left plugged in besides the bed. Three in the morning, or so he thought. His vision was surprisingly blurry, and he didn't know why. Everything that's happened was dreadful and unexpected, and Makoto hates uncertainty.

Closing his eyes tightly, clenching on the pillow until he hears it rip, the luckster tried his best to fall asleep. And he was right when he realized that it was impossible for him to do so.

Ba dum, ba dum, ba dum...

It was concerning. Everything was unreadable and unknown, Fuyuhiko had a bad feeling about all of it. Maybe Makoto's body was just giving up after fighting for so long, making him sleep in the morning and awake at night. Or maybe it was just his way to cope with his hero title, by disappearing. But that seemed out of character.

Besides, it didn't explain why he was growing so pale or why he didn't eat at all. Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu had to admit that he was worried about his boss' health. About his friends health nonetheless!

The blond approached the brunet, who had just collapsed to his knees, clamping a hand over his mouth to keep his nausea at bay. Fuyuhiko noticed that the luckster was bleeding (which was not unusual, yet dangerous) and crouched besides him.

Since when was Makoto so tense at a scent he was so used to have on him?

"Stay away for a moment, please." It came out as monotone, yet wholeheartedly disgusted. At himself, sure, but the shorter make didn't know that.

"But—"

"Stay fucking away, Kuzuryuu."

Ba dum, ba dum, ba dum...

"I CAN'T DO THIS!" he yelled, slamming his hand on the table with much more strength that he needed or he knew he had. His breath came out in short, panting gasps. In anger, in agony, who knows. This was overwhelming.

Makoto gritted his teeth, his stomach commanding him to do things he didn't want to do. It was slowly consuming him, the thirst, the hunger, turning his mind into a beast's.

That was enough for his assistant, who immediately took Makoto's chin with his hand, and pressed a thumb against his cheek, commanding him to keep it slightly open.

Ba dum, ba dum, ba dum...

His heart was beating, it always was. It made the brunet's head ring, his blood boil.

Blood, yeah. He needed that, he wanted that.

"So Kirigiri was right with that theory of hers... And here I thought it sounded stupid," he noted, his eyes falling on the fangs in his boss' mouth.

Come to think of eyes, were the hero's eyes always that shade of crimson?

"You could have told me, cunt."

"I didn't want to worry you."

"As far as I know, vampires die if they don't eat."

"I'd rather die than hurt other for such a selfish purpose."

"Would you eat if it was consented, then?"

That was... what he needed right? Some sort of permission that allowed him to keep himself alive. Something that gave him the right to hurt someone for the sole asking of feeding himself. The luckster nodded hesitantly.

And before he could even process it, Fuyuhiko had already unbuttoned his shirt and tilted his head to the side so the other had room to bite. Not only that, but his hand laid on the back of Makoto's neck, commanding him to dig in.

He stared in awe. Ba dum, ba dum... His heart was so noisy, so enticing, so alluring.

"You better be honored."

There was a nod.

"I've always been, you know."
