I am falling. Suddenly I hit a water surface. When I open my eyes, I find myself in the blue Ocean. I want to swim back up to breathe, but I don't know where the surface is. I panic for a moment until I realise, that I can breathe underwater. Smiling I swim deeper into the Ocean. The sun makes the clear water around me sparkle. I close my eyes and swim even further taking a deep breath. But suddenly I have to cough and I taste blood in my mouth. Something hard swam in my mouth. I open my eyes. The ocean around me has changed. The clear, sparkling water is not recognizable. I am suddenly surrounded by plastic trash, swimming around in the ocean. I am shocked by this sight. I see small crabs trying to build a house with the trash, because they natural one is half destroyed and filled with plastic, fishes that have to part from they shoal to avoid colliding with a piece of plastic, and a big whale who is trying to find plankton in the water and just gets more and more plastic in its mouth, cutting it open just like it did to my mouth. Then, a few meters away from me, I see a dolphin who's tail is trapped in a big piece of a plastic net. It struggles, trying to free itself to swim to the surface. I want to help the dolphin and try to make my way through the plastic trash around me and swim to the dolphin. But I don't seem to be abel to come closer. I feel a net wrapping around my legs so that I can't swim anymore too. It is pulling me deeper into the ocean. I can't breath anymore and try to scream but there is no sound coming from my mouth. The magic is gone and I sink into the ocean, helpless against the plastic like the fishes around me.
I sit up gasping for breath. I am back in my bed but I can still feel the plastic in my mouth and around my legs. But it was only a dream right? Because reality is so much worse. I look around in my room, suddenly disgusted by all the plastic in my bin. I get up with the decision that I have to do something so none of that ends up in the ocean. That I have to stop using it so much. Because I want to be able to only swim in the sparkling water without being scared to find such a scene a few meters away. Because who knows if a part of the plastic cup I use could end up killing one those animals I just saw in my dreams?
