Its 50 years in the future and nothing has really changed, Except for no one dies until they're like 400 years old. I'm a 384-year-old woman named Paula. I was born in 1684 I have a friend named Debbie with an ie, and another named Debra, they're two different stories.
Debbie's a little younger than me she's about 2 or so hundred and she unlike me isn't a cat person. She was born in 1868. She's partially blind and keeps hitting the wall. She's the best Debbie you'll ever meet. Debbie has 2 sisters one named Debby with a y, and one named Debra their parents are so original with names. The oldest gets more letters and from there the letters start to decrease. That means that Debby with a y is the youngest than next it's Debbie with an ie.
Debra's the oldest. She has 25 rabbits she's gathered over the years. Also, she's 401 years old, a little younger than me. She was born in 1667. Debra doesn't really like people other than her sisters and Paula.
Paula decided to take her 7 cats Oscar, Max, Tiger, Sam, Summer, Simba, and coco, on a walk on the trails behind the old barre town school. It's about noon. She looks through the window and she sees a recognizable face it's her old friend's daughter, Winter, who passed away a while ago. Oh, by the way, did I mention she's psychic and can see the dead. Paula sees her face and she's furious she seems to be talking with her old friends except the fact that they can't hear her. Paula waves as she's on the pathway just enough so she can still be seen by that angered sad face on little Winter.
Paula Continues her hike down to the bridge that crosses the river like a stream. Paula stops a minute to look down at the newborn tadpoles in the stream. They continue on their way down the path until Paula and her cats hear something that sounds like a grumbling noise. The bushes shake a little when a small kitten pounces out. The poor thing must be starving. They're close to the quarry opening so they stop to have something to eat. Paula decides she'll take in the new kitten and name him scraggles. She reaches into her bag and pulled out an extra collar and leash, She always carries an extra just in case. All of Paula's cats are rescues except for Oscar that's just how she is.
They soon arrive at the train tracks and Paula starts singing "I've been working on the railroad.." when one of the cats gets her attention something's not right but what? Paula hears strange noises like a little humming from behind them. She turns and looks and she sees the ghost of Debra stopped right in her tracks. 'How did she die?' Paula wondered 'I saw her just yesterday all fine and well.'
"Hello, Paula, What a coincidence seeing you again." Debra looked so unfamiliar but Paula could tell it was her from anywhere. Debbie with an ie and Debra were the only other people knowing of Paula's abilities.
"What happened?...you look so different." Paula said realizing at that moment she wasn't alone she came with her rabbits except one. He hopped out behind her still alive.
"It was too late the fireplace was lit and I fell asleep in the old recliner all of my rabbits were gathered around me and we weren't expecting it but we all got stuck except for this little escape artist here. She pointed to star she was a black rabbit with one small white star shape on her forehead. "I was hoping you'd take care of her for me? I know she's your favorite." I accepted the offer and strolled down the tracks until leading us back to the trail.
They continue on their journey and they reach the opening with a lot of rock from the quarry, where they decide to adventure a bit. She unhooks her cat's leashes except for the new addition of scraggles. They climb all over the rocks and roll in the dirt. She found a new found appreciation of an old time friend. They find the opening and follow wherever the path should take them. Then they reach a bridge and it leads across a large rock next to one of the quarries. It's filled with water and there's a small place where you can go right near the water, She ties the cats to a nearby tree so they won't go near the barbed wire around the edge. Paula goes and gets the cats with star following behind her.
There's another great view near a statue the statue's old and mossy. It's a head in a block of rock. I see the great view of the mountains and the trees preparing for winter the reddish-orange colors in bloom. I sit for a minute and sketch a picture of Barre, admiring the nature of it.
I finish the drawing and it looks decent enough an old statue and some trees, scratch that a lot of trees, a couple of buildings.
Paula wasn't originally from Barre. She's spent her whole life traveling with Debra and Debbie with an ie. When finally, they got too old and couldn't afford to go that far. Eventually, they ended up staying with Debby with a y for a bit until they found their own little cozy houses in the small town of Barre. They've been with each other ever since, except for now that Debra's dead. Debra and Paula have always been animal people that's the main reason why they moved out because they wanted to help animals by adopting them.
Paula's currently on the statues cracked shards of concrete and decides to start heading back when all of a sudden she feels a sudden jolt of pain and realized she's been pushed over the edge. Paula looks up and sees her cats and star on the concrete. Next, to them stand Winter she ever liked Paula, but the feeling was mutual. Paula used to abuse her when she was younger, Winter used to live with her when she was 5 her parents were out traveling. Paula's had a dark past with depression and taking it out on other people. Paula's life flashes before her eyes as she starts crying, "I'm sorry!" were her last words before she tumbles down the mountain.
