"Lea, saan na ba tayo?"

"Hindi ko alam. Hindi ako sumusunod kay Ma'am eh!" Sabi ko kay Cassidy, seatmate-slash-best friend ko. English class ngayon at kasalukuyan nagbabasa ng poem, ang boring nga eh! Parang mga bata kami ngayon, tinuturuan pa magbasa kahit kaya naman namin.

Ang boring, I swear. Ang sarap matulog-

"Okay, Windy please read the next one." Sabi ni Ma'am. Napalingon kami sa kanya nang tumayo siya. Inadjust pa niya yung glasses niya bago magbasa.

"The angels, not half so happy in Heaven, went envying her and me..."

Habang nagbabasa siya, I'm trying to stop myself from laughing. Medyo nabubulol kasi siya atsaka ang awkward ng posture niya. Kuba lang? Puede siya maging kampanerang kuba.

Pinipigilan ko tawa ko. Medyo nabubulol siya, tapos ang weird ng posture niya — kuba levels? Puede na siyang kampanerang kuba.

Napalingon siya bigla. Shit. Nagkatinginan kami sandali — binawi ko agad yung tingin ko. Natawa si Cass sa reaction ko.

She's our weird classmate —Windy Marquez. Where do I start? She used to be super jolly back in grade school at sobrang boyish. Ponytail lagi, never ko pa ata siyang nakita na naka-down ang buhok. First year high school na kami pero parang stuck pa rin ang utak niya sa grade school. Mahilig siya sa anime, lalo na sa Naruto. Pareho sila ni Belle, isa pang adik sa anime.

She will never have a boyfriend kung ganun siya. She needs help.

"Yes! that was the reason as all men know, in this kingdom by the sea that the wind came out of a cloud, chilling and killing my Annabel Lee." She finished reading and waited for Ma'am to signal her to sit down. See? Awkward niya talaga! Ewan ko ba kung bakit ganyan siya kumilos at naging tahimik na siya.

I never had a single conversation with her. As in yun matino na conversation. Nagsasalita lang kami if magkagroup kami sa mga groupworks or what. Siguro kapag kausapin ko siya, puro anime lang ang lalabas sa bunganga niya.

She's awkward but... nevermind. It's too early to assume that.

"Okay, Lea! Please read the next one."

What?! Napatingin ako kay Ma'am at nakatingin siya sakin, dead serious. 

Lumapit ang tingin ko kay Windy — nakita ko nanonood siya. She held my gaze for one second, tapos umiwas bigla. Okay? Ano yun?

"Okay, Lea! Please read the next one." Sabi ni Ma'am sa kanya. She stood up and asked her seatmate kung saan na. Obviously, hindi siya sumunod kasi puro chismis lang siya sa best friend niya na si Cassidy na halata nagbabasa ng Total Girl magazine habang naglelecture kami.

Nagtinginan kami ni Roxy at Kiera, nahahalata rin nila sila Cassidy at si Lea.

"But our love it was stronger by far than the love of those who were older than we of many far wiser than we-"

Siya si Lea Amador. Classmate ko since Grade one pero wala talaga kaming proper conversation ever. She thinks I'm weird — halos lahat naman. She hangs out with the "it girls" ng batch, tapos ako... well, ako lang 'to. Maganda siya, kahit mukhang nerd paminsan. Glasses, braces, minsan ponytail — pero maganda. Kaya crush siya ni Marvin. Di nakakagulat.

Minsan, napapatingin ako. Like now. Napatingin ako sa kanya at nahuli ko siyang nakatingin sakin. She quickly looked back at the back and continued reading. 

Minsan naiisip ko... paano kaya kung ako si Lea? Pero sabi nina Kiera, wag daw akong mag-compare — I'm better daw. Sila lang naman nagsasabi nun, they're just saying that because we're best friends and there's no way that I will be better than Lea Amador.

"And neither the angels in Heaven above, nor the demons down under the sea, can ever dissever my soul from the soul of the beautiful Annabel Lee." Tumigil siya, palakpakan ang buong klase. Pinuri pa siya ni Ma'am kasi klaro daw pronunciation. I don't see the difference.

Napatingin ako sa kanya, na-catch ko na naka-side glance siya sakin. Bigla akong umiwas.

We'll never be on the same level. I know that. 

Hola! This is the author. This is my new story hehehe. I already published this one before, 2017 I think but I decided to delete it because I felt like it's not enough. I decided to fix this because Lea and Windy keeps on haunting me in my dreams (for real huhu). That is why I decided to fix this.
