Prologue

There are times in your life when you're happy it ended. This is one of those times.

"Thank God junior year's already over!"

I nodded in agreement to what my best friend, Emma, said. Junior year was finally over. Just one more year and we'll be out of high school. Not that I'm rushing the time or anything.

We were walking on the way to my house from school. Emma was going to sleep over because we were going to, I quote, "celebrate" since we just finished another year in school.

How do we celebrate? We binge-watch on some random chick-flick movies or we watch the whole series of High School Musical, Twilight, or Harry Potter. We usually end up watching Harry Potter even though we always doze off at the third or fourth movie.

"Are we gonna order pizza or Chinese?"

          I shrugged my shoulders.

          "Pizza it is then"

I just nodded. We always order pizza anyway.

"Hey Katy! We're home!" Emma shouted when we got inside our house. I heard my mom laugh from the kitchen so we went to where she was. She was taking out a fresh batch of cookies from the oven.

"Hello you two! I baked some victory cookies!"

"We can see that Katy and thank you, by the way! These smell wonderful, as usual" she complimented my mom's cookies with a wink.

Mom laughed at her and she went to us and gave us both a peck on the cheek.

"Now go upstairs. I'll bring these to your room once they're cooled down"

          "Okay. Thanks mom"

We went to my room and Emma immediately plopped down my bed and threw her bag across the room. I placed my bag behind my door and sat on my vanity chair.

"I don't wanna go over to my dad's"

Emma said, letting out a groan after. She was going to spend her whole summer break at her dad's place. Which means that I have no one to talk to or hang out with for the rest of the summer.

"It's not like you have a choice. You didn't go there the last time"

"Yeah. He probably misses me already"

          "Of course he does"

She started rolling side to side and made weird sounds.

"But it's too green-y there! I'll probably come back here as a vegetarian or something"

"That's fine with me. Although I'm gonna be the only one finishing a whole box of pizza"

She stopped rolling and glared at me. "Hey! That won't ever happen! Just thinking about it makes me mad"

We started laughing about her situation and then we heard some noises coming from the house next door. We stood up and went over to my window.

It seemed like someone was moving in. Just as we were about to see the person getting out of the car, my mom knocked on my door and went inside my room, holding up a plate of cookies.

"Hey there. What are you guys looking at?"

Emma went to my mom and grabbed the plate from her hand. "Just some people from next door"

          "Oh! They're already here!"

I looked at my mom with a raised eyebrow

"Mom, who's moving in? Isn't that house.."

"Yes dear. The Grays. They're moving back in"

Hello! I'm having second thoughts if I'm going to continue this story. If this prologue alone gets, like, 15 reads maybe, I'm going to publish the first chapter and see how it goes.

Note: All the contents in this book are fictional and were from my imagination only. All ideas are mine so please, please, don't even think of copying my work or else that would be plagiarism!

All support is fully appreciated! ( all corrections that are seen and pointed out are appreciated as well! )
