--Present Day--
Nick looked over at Selena who was reading her book intently. He moved across the bed snuggling into her and kissing her neck.
“I can’t believe today’s our last show…” they had toured the US filling up small venues and now they were in Nick’s home in New Jersey resting for that evening.
“...our last show for a while,” Selena corrected rubbing the top of her stomach lovingly placing the book aside and continued, “You know I’ve been reading this baby book and it doesn’t say anything about being too anxious before a show and if it could affect the baby”
Nick shot up quickly, “Do you feel sick or something? If you’re sick we could cancel the show. The fans would understand. Do you want me to call your mom or my mom or the doc—”
Selena couldn’t help but laugh, “Baby,” she said as she leaned over and kissed his lips “I’m fine…I think I'm just sad and excited at the same time.”
“Sad? Why are you sad?” Nick questioned.
“I mean this is our last show…I'm just sad that it’s over”
“Lena c’mon, you said it yourself…it’s our last show for a while…just for a while” He said placing his hand gently her full belly and then quickly kissing her nose.

Selena took a deep breath as she squeezed Nick’s hand “This is it she whispered…”
“Yep,” Nick agreed smiling down at her and they both walked out. Selena let go of Nick’s hand so that he could adjust the strap on his guitar. She smiled as she heard the crowd scream. Oh how she loved their fans; they were the ones that knew that her and Nick were meant to be and they were so excited when they said they were going to have a baby.
“So we decided to start the show off with a song that you guys may know,” Nick started off his voice booming through the venue. Selena smile over looking over the crowd.
Nick started to strum his guitar melody that everyone knew and the diehard fans started to scream. This was the song that got them started…this was the song that made their dreams come true.
“I’ve got this friend…I don’t think you know him…he’s not much for words…he’s hidden his heart away…”
Selena watched him and smiled. She loved him so much and she thanked the universe for everything and for blessing them with the wonderful baby that was coming. As Nick finished his verse Selena started hers.
“I’ve got this friend…I don’t think you know her…she sings a simple song…that sounds a lot like his”
As Selena sang her Nick couldn’t help but smile lovingly at her. He couldn’t believe that she was carrying his baby. He hoped it was a girl so it would look like her. He was so happy to be with her. They hadn’t talked about marriage but Nick knew he was going to marry her.
He was going to marry her.
