Jackie sighed in response and pushed her head against the window

"I guess.." she said apathetically

"Whats wrong?" Kristen asked putting her hand on her sister's shoulder.

"I'm just kind-of upset about leaving everyone..." she said. Her eyes began tearing up at the thought that she might not ever see her friends again. She had no idea what Seattle people would be like, she was guessing boring and gray, just like the city.

"Don't worry hunn!" Kristen mused, "I'm sure you'll make a whole bunch of mew friends in Seattle." She said popping her own head phones back in her ears and nodding her head to the beat of some random rap song by some rapper Jackie had never heard of.

Just as Jackie started to put her other headphone in to finish the rest of Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin her mom started started talking.

"Honey, Seattle will be fun! once you start going to school, you'll meet new people, and you'll love it." she said trying to console her daughter.

"I wouldn't worry about it too much." Curt said while trying to put his contact in. He was making the strangest face. It was actually kind of fun to watch. The faces he made once he got one in were amusing. He blinked rapidly and opened his mouth wide. Jackie laughed.

"There's a smile" Curt said with one eye squeezed shut.

Jackie smiled and lied back in the seat . she looked out of the back window and stared at the clouds. The soothing sound of Dark Blue made her eyes feel heavy and she drifted off to sleep. She dreamed of her friends back in Santa Fe and all the adventures they had together. Like the time they walked five miles to the state park to meet a boy her friend Stacy met on the internet only to discover it was a twelve year old boy that claimed he was in love with her and "age was just a number." She had some good times with her friends and she was going to tell that Seattle was going to be worse than she could imagine..
