*crash* Adam bolted out of bed at the sound of cooking pans hitting the kitchen floor, now startled, Adam groggily walked down the stairs to the kitchen to see what had happened. As he walked through the doorway he saw a variety of pots and pans scattered across the kitchen floor. Sat beside the largest of the pots was his cat Charles. "Oh you dumb cat, you just woke up the whole family!" he yelled as he ran up to the cat to get it to run away.

Adam spent the morning cleaning the kitchen before his mom got out of bed, he didn't want to deal with a pissed off parent this early in the morning. He hadn't slept that well last night and was afraid he would say something he would regret. Anytime he had the urge to yell at his mom he had to remind himself of what had happened the previous summer. He couldn't let himself turn out like his father had.

Later that morning his mother had come downstairs, "Why is the kitchen so clean?" she asked as she looked through the cupboards and drawers in awe, "Charles knocked down some pots so I went ahead and cleaned the kitchen for you" Adam replied with a proud tone to his voice. His mother got ready and kissed Adam goodbye before going off to work.

Adam went upstairs and turned on his laptop, he spent most of his days in front of it. He would either watch some stupid YouTube videos or Skype his friends. He had made plans to Skype with Lindsay the day before and he was already 5 minutes late. He turned on Skype and quickly messaged Lindsay. "Hey, i'm sorry i'm late, I had to deal with a mess Charles made. Hope you're still in the mood to Skype? :)". Not even a minute later he got a reply, "It's completely okay! I had some stuff I had to get done myself, the Lindsay-line is open sir, feel free to call at your own will ;)".

After a few minutes of catching up they started to talk about the upcoming freshman year. "All of my older friends say it's going to be super hard, i'm not even close to being close to being prepared!" Lindsay exclaimed in an exaggerated panicked tone. "I'm sure they're just trying to scare you Lind, I doubt it's all that much harder than last year. Just watch, you'll be top of the class" he replied in an overly confident tone. "I don't know...they all seem very serious about it Adam, I would make sure you're at least a little bit prepared. I wouldn't want to graduate without you dummy" she replied looking concerned and caring all at the same time. "I know, I know" he replied in defense.

Adam and Lindsay talked for another hour or so and then logged off, Adam had some chores he had to get done around the house before his mom got home.
