~Chapter 20~Getting Closer

"Thank You..." Manik spoke smilingly and gestured her to sit in the car. Soon both of them settled inside the car and it zoomed in the road.

"Soo..Where are we going..?" Nandini asked wanting to know about their whereabouts.

"You say any specific place where you wanna go?!" Manik asked her.

"Naah! Aap leke aaye hai toh it should be your decision.." Nandini said.

"Okay then! So what about a long drive..?" Manik asked her to which she being an excited soul nodded in a yes jumping on her seat and Manik smiled seeing her being comfortable around him.

After few minutes, Manik initiated the talk asking some general things trying to be comfortable and soon enough they started talking about anything and everything and then they were unstoppable wanting to know everything about the other person. When their conversation was interrupted as Manik's phone rung breaking their trance. He asked Nandini to see who it is and she took his phone from the dashboard and seeing the caller ID with the picture of a girl, frowned and without saying anything forwarded the cell to manik who asked her through gesture about the call but she just shrugged it off.

"Hey Baby doll! " Manik spoke parking the car at side and seeing the caller ID and greeted the person cheerfully to which Nandini frowned seeing him calling that girl Babydoll and that too in front of his fiancee. How could he? and then her mind got diverted to the day of the party when she saw him with that clingy girl...

"Of course! Why to take such tension?Main hoon na! Don't worry I will talk to him and will look into the matter okay." Nandini was listening all this with creases all over her forehead and was just muttering curses to that girl...

"Chal Bye..." Finally after what felt like eternity to Nandini when it was just a fee minutes, he bid bye to her and keeping the phone on the dashboard started to drive.

"So... Where were we?" He asked diverting his attention back to her.

"On the road..." She spoke nonchalantly.

"What?! That I know Nandini I am asking about our talk. We were talking about something..." He stated being confused with her change in attitude

"I forgot .." saying this she turned her head and was looking outside the window totally ignoring him.

"Are you okay Nandini?"

"Of course! I am okay,mujhe kya hoga?"

"Nahi you are sounding weird. Kuch hua kya?Did I do something wrong? Are you upset with me? Batao toh atleast...if yes then.." his continuous blabbering was cut by Nandini who snapped saying

"Who was SHE??"

"Huh! Who? Kaun She?? " he asked perplexed.

"As if you don't know.."

"Areyy Nandini can you please be a little more precise about that She?!" he said air quoting the word SHE.

"The one whom you addressed as babydoll just a few minutes back." She said as she was too curious and was not able to take it anymore.
