Akaashi Keiji

"I want to go to Mars. Not just a visit— I want to live there. It is then as believe in truth that life on mars is possible. Proof that if we had to mankind can make a fresh start. We are in trouble and it's our fault, and we're running out of time and mother nature doesn't negotiate.
We can't give up, not now. Mars is a planet,
right and ready for life. Earth's resources might be depleted but there is one resource we must never neglect. It's the most valuable. And it's the one without limits..."

"Courage." Clapping of hands echoed in the screen as Akaashi Keiji yawned tiredly. He muttered, "Off," before rising from his seat. The screen closed, making the whole room dark.

"Kei, are you going to sleep?" Akaashi heard a robotic voice on the other side of the room. Oh, he forgot his dear best friend. "I'm sorry, Hurricane. I bet you want to go out now." Akaashi apologized to his robot friend.

"Open," The door automatically opened as Akaashi and Hurricane stepped out of the dark room. People wearing white lab coat, as we may call them scientists, were passing through the room. Akaashi sighed before walking along with the scientists.

"Kei, I thought you're going to sleep?" Hurricane asked as he followed the black-haired teen. But instead of receiving reply, the robot only received a heavy sigh, "Ah, I see. Today's your mother's death anniversary. Are you going to visit her grave?"

"Yes, Hurricane," Akaashi replied. The two finally reached the lobby without being caught. The teenager grabbed a clothing called space suit, putting it on as he muttered, "Open," A door automatically opened, revealing the beauty of the planet Mars. It was pure soil and no water.

Akaashi stepped out of the white building before looking back at Hurricane, "Stay here. You musn't tell the others about the reason of my absence especially Bokuto-san, you got that?" He didn't wait for the robot's response as the door automatically closed.

Akaashi looked around. The only color he could see is brown and he's already getting tired of it, "Tch."

And then he thought...

So this is Mars. This is where I was born and raised.

"Mom, I'm coming," Akaashi muttered softly, hopping on a vehicle. He turned it on using the watch in his wrist [a/n: technology in this time is quite advanced. sooo, yeah. instead of using a key, they use watch (wearable technology) but, this is only in mars.]. He immediately accelerated the vehicle, ready to travel Mars.

Seventeen years ago, an astronaut named Akaashi Miyako led her members to the beautiful galaxy. Traveling on their way to the planet of Mars, she found herself carrying a baby in her stomach. Everyone in the ship looked down. They pity her, but Miyako didn't mind.

She cheered them up and made the whole ship go back to normal again. But deep inside, where her heart beats and her mind speaks. She knew, she's not going to make it.

9 months later, they finally arrived on Mars. Exactly when they landed, Ayume's water broke. Meaning, little Akaashi is finally going to be born. She delivered the baby well. And she was able to hold him for awhile.

For awhile...

When the baby was born, Ayume died afterwards. She wasn't able to make it and raise her child. Everyone in the operating room felt devastated. But the little baby's soft cries made them go back to reality.

They kept him, and named him Akaashi Keiji.

"Hi mom." Akaashi stared at the grave in front of him blankly. He put the fake roses he took from the garden on top of the grave. He sighed, "It's been a while since I came here. When was it again? Oh, the time when me and Bokuto-san fought."

"I released my anger in front of you. And guess what? It made me calm," The black-haired teen crouched down, his fingers trailing his mother's name printed on the grave, "Bokuto-san is really a good guy. But sometimes he could be an idiot– well, mostly an idiot. But if you meet him, I'm sure you'll love him. He's a person whom you'll end up wanting to be friends with. He brings that happy vibe they call in our place."

"Huh, I'm sure you're getting tired of it already, mom. I've already told you that a hundred times–"

"No, your mom sure loves that story," Another voice said, making Akaashi turn to his back. There he is, his dear bestfriend, Bokuto Koutarou. He was grinning smugly like he usually does, "Because I'm the best! Hey hey hey!"

"Shut up, Bokuto-san. And how did you even get here?"

"Well I've been with you since when you told Hurricane not to tell the others especially me. And I keep talking to you when we were in the car but you're in your own world," Bokuto scratched the back of his neck.

"Oh," Was the only thing Akaashi replied. He glanced at his mother's grave once more before making his way towards the vehicle. "Let's go, Bokuto-san. We cannot stay in here any longer." His friend followed him behind, grinning as he teased his black-haired friend.

"So, you actually think I'm nice?"

"No."

"AGHKAAAASHI!"

"Please shut up, Bokuto-san. I'm trying to drive here. Don't distract me."

"Just tell me I'm the best, first!"

"*Sighs* You're the best, Bokuto-san..."

"I'm the best, hey hey hey!"
