Why was Gilderoy Lockhart sent into the Chamber of Secrets? Uh, wasn't it obvious that he would endanger the entire mission by trying to escape? Ginny Weasley is in danger of dying, and Professor McGonogall is simply going to send in the Mr. Over-the-Top as her rescuer? Why don't all of the teachers go down and bust out some magic, just as when they collaborated on protecting the Sorcerer's Stone?

Oh wait, that brings me to another glaring plot hole.

How was a set of obstacles that was intended to ward off the biggest, baddest dark wizard in the country, not able to safeguard the Stone against three first-years?

Former Flaw: What do wizards do before they're 11 years old? They can't go to Muggle schools, because they would actually know something about them! (Remember? Arthur Weasley didn't know how a bus stop worked in Chamber of Secrets.) Plus, I bet any 1st grader would boast to their friends that they're a witch or a wizard.

Possible Answer: They play Quidditch on broomsticks, learn about how awesome wizards are... and become just as spoiled as Draco Malfoy. Hogwarts must be a real wakeup call.
