(Y/n)'s POV

I must admit, the least terrifying part of this trip has been the train ride. I was lucky to even find a seat. I was from a muggle and a Wizard. So I'm just a half blood. Though unfortunately throughout my life I haven't belonged to whom actually are my parents.

Instead I lived with two abusive muggles. They hated each other so they blamed their failing relationship on me. I had been beaten and starved almost every day. I hated it. I haven't talked for years, except for the animals around my failing home.

Though now I'll be somewhere where I can hopefully be safe. To be honest, the shopping part was very enjoyed. I especially love the beauty of an owl I bought. I could tell from the first look she was sweet and well deserving of good care. So I bought her. I've talked to her and decided to call her Rose White.

(Picture above)

I give her wings a very careful pet before giving her a small treat and glancing out the window. I take a small breath, remembering that there's always something scary about doing something new.

I loved some muggle things, like the iPod. I was told I was aloud to bring it as long as I used it for few things and kept it in my dormitory. For now, I was just listening to music. It's the best. Music has always soothed me. Some songs have almost brought me to tears, others have put a smile on my face.

Right now I was listening to Battlefield by SVRCINA. In my opinion it's an amazing song, others never understood it. Looking at the window I drown myself in the blue pool of the sky and wait.

(Time Skip)

After undocking from the boat I more just followed everyone's lead. Not knowing what to do. I made the right choice as we soon arrived. Entering we saw a woman who was whispered to be Professor McGonagall. She gave a small speech about how some things will work and I listened along. At times spacing out.

We entered what's called the "Great Hall" and everyone gathered. Inside we saw the headmaster, and all the house leaders. Also the students and flags and all that stuff. I listen to the headmaster's, I now know as Dumbledore, speech.

Suddenly, people started being called up and sorted. The hat would sometimes insult or just automatically sort. Soon though, it was my turn.

"(Y/n) (L/n)." I hesitated but went up and took a seat. I didn't know what house I would be put in. I didn't know what to expect either.

"Hmmm... this one is difficult..." the hat spoke which I was used to by now, I just won't be used to a talking towel if there even is something like that.

"Slytherin!" It shouted. There was honestly a lot of hesitant clapping. I just shyly kept my head down and go to my seat. To be fair I was slightly older than most students because my parents had been trying to avoid the letter for years.

I ran away last night to be here. I knew when I go back they're just going to harm me, but I should be used to that by now.... I'm a 14 year old, first year, in Hogwarts. I decided I should keep my age to myself so no one will freak out though my age isn't that far off but it's still not normal.

Suddenly Dumbledore said something about dinner being served and food appeared in front of everyone. Though everyone dug in automatically, I hesitated if I should even eat. I heard some guys comment saying I was a twig so I only ate a little. I didn't want to be called a twig like I was back in the muggle world.

I felt eyes burning into my side. I take a quick glance around and see the house leader staring at me. It made me tense. He was one of those super dark looking men that was well matured. I kept my gaze to myself as I barely eat. Soon everyone was sent to their dormitory, though I was called to speak with Dumbledore. So I was standing aside with him.

"Did you talk some sense into those parents of yours?" I was very hesitant, not knowing if I should tell him the truth or not. I just ending up shaking my head yes, rubbing my arm making it clear I was lying. He nodded, knowing I was too afraid to tell the truth.

"It's nice to see how well you've grown. I haven't seen you since you were a baby. Get some rest Ms. (L/n) I understand that you need it." I give him a tiny smile and nod. Though voice weak, I manage to whisper.

"Thank you..." I walk to my dormitory finding my stuff there as well as Rose White. A smile latches onto my lips as I gave her the freedom to fly around my room and I lay down. I play some calming songs and yawn, soon falling asleep.
