Peachfuzz dozed in the thunderclan clearing next to her mate foxfur. She relished in the warmth of the newleaf sun. Leafbare had just ended and the forest was turning green.

As deputy, peachfuzz often didn't get much time to relax so she made sure to take advantage of this free time she had with her mate.

"Peachfuzz!" Her name was called. She groaned as she lifted her head to see one of her kits treepaw standing in front of her.

"Yes treepaw?" She asked eyeing the kit with slight annoyance. Foxfur had lifted his head do to the commotion.

"Why does Needlepaw get to train while I take care of the elders?!" He asked digging his claws into the ground.

Peachfuzz heaved a sigh as she began repeating the words she said countless times. "First your mentor chooses what you do. If pinefur wants you to check on the elders that's what you do."She paused at his annoyed look.

"And second your not a kit anymore, so?" She asked knowing treepaw could finish what she was going to say.

"So stop acting like a kit." He groaned lowering his head.

"Just be patient. You've only just started as an apprentice." She sat up and gave treepaw a loving lick between his ears.

He groaned and pulled away. He scrubbed at his head with a paw as if to rid it of the feeling.

"Now is that any way to treat your own mother." Pinefur Peachfuzz's litter mate walked up.

"He's been a pawfull I assume?" She said with a chuckle.

"No more than you were when you were an apprentice." Pinefur joked back.

"Excuse me. I was one of the best apprentices at the time. Just ask lumberfoot!" She said dramatically.

"Oh you don't want to ask me." Said the elder. "Trust me you weren't even in the top five best apprentices."

"Ok so maybe I snuck a peach or two here and there. It's not like I broke the warrior code." She huffed acting childish.

"Oh come on. You knew it was forbidden to go into the twoleg gardens." Foxfur said jokingly nudging her.

"You never stopped me though did you? So weren't the greatest apprentice either." She stated huffing once more.

"Well it made you happy. I didn't like to see the frown on your face when you couldn't have one of your peaches." He rubbed his muzzle against hers. A purr rose in her throat as the love for her mate swelled.

"Ew! That so gross." Treepaw exclaimed spitting.

"You won't think so when you've found a mate you love as much as I love your mother." Foxfur flicked his ear with his tail playfully.
